First time Mopar builder

Hi all. This is my first major Mopar build. Ive had lots of Mopars as a kid but I fell in love with this one when I found it. Ive been reading the forums for advice and tech tips and BBO has proved very helpful.
I found a 1966 Belvedere II in great shape other than no motor or Trans. It was an original 318/904 car but it came with a 383 and a T727.
I rebuilt the 383 myself and the 727 has already been rebuilt.
I know there will be things I need to modify (suspension, brakes, rear end etc) but with the knowledge I see in here, I think I can have her goin by the new year.

Welcome from Alabama, great 66. Looks like it's already spiffed up on the outside. Keep us informed on what you are doing, especially if you find that you are in need of a little help and advice.
 
Great body style! Congrats!!! Looks like it's in good shape. What are the plans? Cruiser? Street racer? A little of both lol.

My plans for it are just to make it a fun lil cruiser/bruiser. the 383 I built is 30 over, I added a few lil goodies, Comp Cams Nostalgia cam, pushrods, springs, lifters. Im not sure whether to go with Eddy Performer or Weiand Intake (this is where your experience comes in) I didnt want anything too wild, but when I step on the go pedal I want it to GO! The carb I have for it is a Eddy 750 cfm (maybe too much?) In the future Im thinking Alum. Heads for the weight reduction/performance. On order are Alum. water pump & housing. Im taking it slow because I dont have access to the Federal Car Rebuilders fund (if there even is one)
As I said, this is my first REAL "I dun it" Mopar build so Im sure I will be asking lots of questions and I truly appreciate the knowledge I know FBBO members will give me and along this journey, maybe I can help someone in return. I will post pictures of progress and report any issues I have.
 
Welcome from Minnesota! Very nice looking car. Let us know more about the cars details & what your plans are for it. The '66's are a very versatile platform. You can do lots of things with parts that are readily available.

I'm a 66 fan as well.
My answer for you intake selection:
I don't think you would notice any difference between the Edelbrock and the Weiand.
But I would recommend the dual plane Weiand.
A 750 cfm is not too big. I like the Carter 625 personally.

The intake s don't matter much there about the same when your looking at it look at the power band they tell you that should get you the info you need of what type of driving your going to do ! What I tell everyone though make Shure your honest with yourself you buy something that starts it's power band at 4000 rpm it will be fun to race but a horrible driver !
A 750 cfm carb should be fine for your 383 depending on your cam specs (I would only go bigger from here) I run 750 cfm carbs on my small blocks ! Big blocks came with something like 840 cfms
