69 GTX... acorns in the motor......confirmed

To me to start the engine with all that debris and the work is nuts. Pun intended. Screw up that crank and you'll kick yourself.

Unfortunately I have too many projects right now to do a rebuild . Im not going to chance it. I just oiled it good and it will have to wait.

Pull all of the plugs and at least try to crank it by hand first. Otherwise, you also take a very good chance of bending a rod. At the very least. If it cranks by hand, give it a go. Shop Vac, is your friend.

With what I have seen by tearing down old engines that have set for decades. I have seen some valves where the heads have broke from their stems. Valve seals all dried up and crumbled. Plastic timing gear ready to strip at fire-up. There is no way I would chance ruining a good core engine by trying to start it.

At least pull the heads.
