I bought the car last summer, from my dad who parked it 2 years before i was born, and it's sat in a garage for 35+ years. This car was my dad's prized possession, we weren't even allowed to breathe on it growing up, so when the opportunity came to buy it, i jumped on it. It came with a ton of extra parts, and 80% of it, is unneeded. The car is in great shape, floors are solid, trunks solid, and interior is in exceptional shape. Since buying it, other than getting it running again, it has sat in my garage and used as a shelf by my wife, until this week when i took it to my buddies shop, and started by power washing it with a Hotsy, to get the 50+ years of sludge off, only to find out the car's in better shape than i could've ever imagined. Ive wanted this car as long as i could remember, and now, at 35 years old, i finally get to dig into it. Im planning on resto modding it, since its not a numbers matching car. It was originally a 383 automatic car, my dad switched it over to a 4 speed. It's got the drivetrain out of a 69 roadrunner. I plan on changing out the 4 speed for a 5 or 6 speed. It's a slow moving project, but i am super excited to take my dad for a ride, and with his failing health, need to get it done sooner than later. Will try to keep posting progress pics.

I hope it all gets done and you both have a great time cruising in it.

Don't try to do too much to it, It sounds like you want to take him for a ride before he
goes onto the next world! You said it's a slow moving project, so git your little fanny
moving so he can take a lap! Then after you make him happy, you can do whatever you
want. Beautiful car! You're a lucky guy to have been able to get it back. Good luck, and
keep the pic's coming!

Great that you got it
great that it's been protected all these years
shame it was parked all these years instead of being enjoyed

Echo....just do the mechanicals and get it on the road. Yes there are things I and others would change BUTT - I also say leave it like your dad drove it - we all did things back in the day that is what we call period correct - he really didn't have bad taste to put a 4 speed in it !

It's about as close to B5 blue - you got lucky.....when I found you is what Tom Petty would say - have fun !

Congrats and Welcome.

Took the family out to the ice cream cruise, had a blast, took my mom for a ride in the charger for the first time in over 35 years! She had a blast and it was great to share those memories with her. Hopefully i can get my dad out in it soon! Resized952019102095145806.jpg 20191019_124742.jpg
