Any recommendations for a novice about to remove the bucket seats? I'm gathering all the stuff for seat cushion replacement on 67 b-body buckets (seats that have never been removed before) but this terrifying scene of torque-fracturing the rust-fused nuts/studs keeps playing over and over in my head. Penetrating oil I've got. Will torching the nut help? These studs easy to find new to replace after I break them haha?

I've never had any trouble with breaking studs.

I'd examine them to see if they're caked in mud (likely), and then maybe wire brush them, then use the penetrating oil.

After a day or two, try them.

I use a deep socket on a 3/8 drive.

I also like to break them free by hand, then use an air ratchet to speed the lengthy removal process.

Keep in mind the nuts could bind up well down the threads, as that's the area exposed to decades of road dirt.

If that happens, back up, reapply oil and/or wire brush and if necessary, run a die up the threads.
