Spotted this snake crossing the road in my sons neighborhood, it headed to some rocks, kids were playing in the yard above the rocks.

I can't tell for sure
but it looks like a western diamond back rattler
looks like it's got a viper's triangulated head
poisonous, what ever it is

they will be in hibernation really soon, starts to get cold

dangerous time of year

them 'young' snakes/little bastards are supposedly far more dangerous,
they don't/can't control the amount of venom when they bite/strike

Down in TX I saw a movement a foot to try and save the little bastards from the annual hunt. TX of all places.

He says its getting cold, those warm rocks are nice.

Snake hunts? Yep they taste just like chicken, cheaper too!

You'd thunk Tx would have learned to B B Q them by now?

We have hardly any snakes, 12 barn cats keep them all killed. Plus a few skunks.

They recently cleared the field that was next to my neighborhood to start building more houses....found this gopher snake on the patio last weekend. It was a biggun! They do good work though so we(meaning me) bagged it and dumped him in another big undeveloped field nearby.

It’s an average size rattlesnake for eastern Washington. What was most concerning is where I found it. The grandkids and I had a discussion about how dangerous rattlesnakes are and why you stay away from all snakes and notify an adult. Like I said earlier, right above the rocks (about another foot or so)was some neighborhood kids playing in their yard. Needless to say it’s now a dead snake.

Me and the fam are camping at the lake for the weekend.
Found this guy 10 ft from the camper where the kids were playing had to dig him out of the leaves and kill him with a shovel. Probably only the second time in my life I’ve seen a coral snake.

About the only snake I won't kill up here on the ridge is a black snake.
They're common sights around these parts.
They benefit us two ways - pest control obviously (they eat mice), but the other thing they're good for
is that they will not live in the same immediate area as a copperhead - in fact, they're
pretty much mortal enemies and the blackie has a good chance of winning that fight.

I have a really funny story about a black snake I'll have to retell here one day. Y'all would get a hoot
out of it. :)

Red touch black, safe for Jack. Red touches yellow, kills a fellow.

This dude was never afraid of snakes. He is in Va in these two vids. Timber Rattlers.

Halfway through this vid he finds himself in a bad situation.

Timber rattlesnakes are protected in Texas, regular diamondbacks have learned not to rattle as the wild hogs love to eat them so now they are more dangerous. I hate them.

Congrats, you've got the Brains to know better.
Half these Dumbasses on here will just shoot anything, then post it to FaceBook, so their buddies can compare shooting techniques.
All Snakes will avoid Human contact at all cost. You'll get bit when you corner them or step on them, they will never outright attack you.
