I don't want to go to work tomorrow.

I'm still off and enjoying myself.
One thing though....
I get these people that I know that seem to wait until I am off work to pester me for something. It is like the bird that shits on your car only AFTER you just washed it.
I don't mind helping people but I am absolutely finished with people that only seem to talk about themselves, rape your ear on the phone, only call when they need something or have nothing but **** luck which certainly has a way to jump from them to someone else.

Been there, done that and got a t-shirt!! I spent my whole life doing that and now I tell them I'm to old to do all that.

I always have a **** job to be done and ask them to help me
If answer is no then sorry I am busy
That is only for 95% of the people some you drop what you are doing because they will do the same for you

It's for this very reason I try not to tell anyone of a day off? I'm older now and can use the "It skipped my mind." Nope. Just didn't want to tell you. Family included.

When I'm asked (especially from my kids) "What did you do?" I say. "I watched Maury Povich. And learned when he says. "You are not the father!" You jump up and down in joy." GENIUS! Why didnt I think of this 30 years ago?

High humidity air feels thick and steamy. It's like getting out of a hot shower and the bathroom is all steamed up. It's kind of hard to breathe and you overheat easily. Sweat evaporates off of you when the humidity is 30 and it's 90 degrees, but, 85-90 with high humidity is worse than 110 in a dry climate. Sweating will not cool you, it just rolls off you. I go outside for shorter periods of time during the day because the humidity just zaps you. Missouri has high humidity, but, a friend of mine that moved here for Alabama said Missouri is a walk in the park compared to there, hard to imagine. I've been in Tennessee over Christmas and in the middle of the summer, it's a lot like Missouri.
Yep, my son lives in AL. Just moved there from MS and was in the Tidewater area of VA for 10+ years.
The weather changes more in MO and its not quite as bad as AL and MS. Those two states have that sub tropical humidity.
My ex and an old riding buddy (not together, thank God) live in Knoxville. Its much like MO but it gets nicer at higher elevations. And you can get into the mountains fast.

SE Texas has that same sub tropical humidity too. I'm 9 miles from Galveston Bay and right now the Gulf is hot as ever and when the breeze blows in from that direction, it's like a sauna. Btw, when i was working, I worked the off shift for lots of reasons and all of them were very valid lol And feels like the cool front is getting pretty close since the wind is not out of the north and the humidity is dropping slightly and so is the temp. Still 86 and 60% though which is a LOT better than 92 and 65%.....

Been working everyday packing for my move. Gave away three truck loads and two 6x12 trailer loads yesterday to friends, dining room set, two bedroom sets and beds, grandfather and grandmothers clocks, two recliners, two Christmas trees, two TV's, three sets of patio furniture and three chaise loungers for the pool. Gave all the dishes in the kitchen and a half a load to the Salvation army and bought new dishes, glass, hell, everything in the kitchen new. Three weeks ago I sold my cars and bought one new Dodge Durango GT Plus. It's a new, fresh start for Theresa and I. I don't like moving and the next move is to a 3x3x6 spot I bought years ago!!

I hope it all works out well for ya'

sounds like fun :poke: (not)

I did the same thing 20+ years ago 1997
big time downsized, get away from the bay area too
went from a 3500 sgft house in Turtle Creek, Concord Ca.
with a huge 4 stalls (5 cars could fit) & a work area garage
nice pool, spa & B Ball court
& also sold my 3 bd 2 bath 2 car garage townhouse
rental in Oakhurst CC in Clayton Ca.

to semi rural Rancho Murieta Sac. Co., Gated Golf Community;
to a Duplex (only had a $125k loan)
one side I rented out 1600 sqft 3 bd 2 1/2 bath
2 car garage (paid my whole mortgage for both units)
lived in the other side a 1300 sgft 2 bd 2 bath 2 car garage
for some 10+ years

sold that & my dads place upcountry,
cashed out to move here to east of Sonora in 2007
1600 sgft 3 bd 2 bath 2 car garage,
in a semi rural community in the sticks about 10 miles east of town
I haven't regretted one min of the moves,
except the actual packing, selling & giving **** away, I won't use
& the actual moving part sucks

funny how much "stuff" you accumulate over a 10 year period even

Oh man, as a kid, we moved many times. It started early moving from one place to another in the same town right after kindergarten lol but 1st through the start of 4th we stayed put. Then we moved to Texas for the first time and then moved back and then moved again in the same town so I went to 4 different schools in the 4th grade alone between Masshole and Texas and back to Masshole for another two moves! Finished 4th grade then started 5th and moved again to a school that I really liked. Stayed there until the beginning of 7th grade and that's when mom passed on and then Dad's job was moving to NY. Luckily (I think), dad's family said to move back to Texas and we'll put you back to work. Well, dad's family was in the home building business and so here we are again where I worked for dad for several years starting in the summers at 14. Finished school in the most red neck town around where I got bullied a lot at first until I got a gut full of that and became a bit radical :D. Told the ******** to bring it on but better kill me because if ya didn't, you'd be looking over your shoulders from here on out and that did the trick. Guess they weren't so redneck after all.

After moving away from home at 18 and change, I got drafted 2 years later. Once out of that moving mess, spent 6 months in an apartment and then found a place good enough to spend 10 years until it started getting flooded regularly and sold it and moved where I am now 35 years ago after making sure major heavy rains didn't flood the area. Would really like to move away from here since this place isn't much country like anymore. Hell, can't even shoot my .22 out back anymore!

Sonny loves his work....

I really liked the work I did but it was mainly some of the morons that were stooopidvisors that was the problem.

Give a stupavisor a good idea to make thing work better and he does it. Them goes into meeting and brags how he thought of it. My spies told me about it.

I'm itchin' to get back into the field. Been in the office for the last couple weeks, working on some bids and building some control panels for a customer, and I swear I get more tired from sitting all day than I do when I'm out on jobsites..

Yup....and then quit submitting ideas because of that crap unless it was safety related.

Yeah, I like my job but after 5-6 days of staying up late, sleeping in and lazing around, Im not all that motivated to get back to the regular routine just yet. What about you ?

This past week I've been building a roof for the Woman that has been cutting my hair since 1993. She is building two 2 unit duplexes to be either sold after completion or used as rentals.
It is within a half hour, the pay is good and I'm doing what I enjoy.
A couple weeks ago I got my quarterly Union statement. I am at 29 years and 8/12ths. Yeah....THAT is real close to the 30 I need!
