new Project 70 Roadrunner gonna add disc brake kit anyone used the one from Speedway Motors ..? My car is non power drum ,It will be a 440 power steering auto car ;do I have room for a booster ?Also running 14 inch Ralley wheels

Most of the kits I have seen say 15 inch wheels. However, the Right Stuff Detailing B-Body kit also said 15 inch wheel. The car had 14 inch road wheels and they cleared just fine. One kit comes with a booster the other kit does not. The booster is one of those that looks like a giraffe and has some weird bracket. Next go around I probably would seek a different setup.

I used SSBC ,it's a complete kit right down to the cotter pins. I have no problem stopping my 3700 lb brick from almost 150 mph trap speed. It is also manual!

SSBC is now out of business correct? I'd just be leary of going with a kit that isn't supposed anymore from a build standpoint. I know they used to make good stuff, but starting now I would be shy of grabbing discontinued stuff.

Dr Diff works with 14 inch wheels.

LOL! I didn't know they went POOF:eek:

You should have room for a brake booster. If you have sufficient engine manifold vacuum I would definitely get a kit that included a brake booster.

You can also keep it all Mopar by using 73 up A-Body spindles and caliper brackets. Then 71 up B/E body or 73 up A-body calipers (pin style are best) with 11.75" rotors. Check out Mopar Action Disc-O-Tech. That's what I did.
Pretty sure 14 inch wheels work. If not you can swap in 71-72 B/E disc set-up.

Edit. I have almost complete 72 B body disc set-up. I am not far from you.
PM me for details if interested.

You know that 14" rubber is getting harder to find and there is a reason that the mfg went to 15" brakes shortly after changing to disc brakes in 1972 up. More cooling for the rotors. Over heating was a problem. The average car does not have to stop at 150 mph, and I doubt that you would do that very much in your daily driving. Race car stuff only needs to last a very short time. Daily drivers need to function for years. Just a thought. More selection/availability of 15" tires and wheels. Helps fill the big fender openings too.

Excuse me! My SSBC kits use T-Bird brakes on the rear and Mustang's on the front. Both are hardly discontinued stuff, thank you very much!

I was simply saying SSBC is out of business. He might be able to use that stuff no problem, but as far as the company, they are no longer. More for warranty or exchange purposes buying new parts.

IMOP-Anyone selling SSBC products should stop. They know they're out of business so selling anything of their should be returned to SSBC if it can be.
