Dana 60 axle perch location

i bought a 1969 4.10 Dana 60 rear end for a b body. The axle/spring perches have been removed so I need to re-weld them on. Anyone have the measurement and where to measure from to make it the easiest to locate? Also, anyone have the number of degrees I want to weld them at relative to the pinion seal face? Thanks in advance.
 
Lay the new perches on the alignment pin.Lay the diff on the perches.Figure the pinion angle to be 4 to 5 * down and weld the perches to the housing tubes.

Thanks, but I am trying to do it out of the car. I am looking to put them on and sell the unit. Also, if you do it in the car, isn't there some way you need to make sure its centered correctly? The rear end will slide side to side on the perches, so how did you ensure that?
 
Google Big block Mopar ,mopar rear axle dimensions. For a 68-69 b body Dana 60 should measure 60 1/16"axle flange to flange. 44" perch to perch. Perches should be centered so just find center of rear (30 1/32") from one end of flange should be center then measure out 22" on both sides from centerline . That 22" mark should be the center of the pin.
 
Perches generally are welded at 85 degrees. Nose up 5 degrees. Once it's in the car it should end up around 3 degrees down on a standard leaf spring. To be honest, doing it out of the car is a crap shoot. I recommend the method posted previously. Clamp it in loose. Center it on the body. Get the pinion angle where you want it
Tack weld the perches. Remove and weld in short sections allowing it to cool. Fully welding the perches all at once will warp the tubes.

Makes sense.
 
Dont worry about the exact side to side as far as measurement. The 1/4 panels are usually tighter on one side. Center the tire/wheel assy in both wheel wells. It makes mo difference of the housing is slightly left or right as long as its 90 degrees to the vehicle centerline.
