What are you guys using for covers on your Trick Flows? I was thinking of going with the MP polished cast, but have been reading about fitment issues. Sounds like the MP covers are wider than the heads and it is hard to get them to seal.

The summit racing aluminum valve covers work. I noticed Trick Flow sells valve covers too.
The Blue Moroso valve cover gaskets work good and fit the trick flow heads without modification.
The cork Fel-pro gaskets can work, but need to be slightly trimmed around the ends of the rocker stands.

I saw the trick flow covers, but really don't care for them. Plus I want baffles under the breather and pcv holes.

I used the Summit cast covers on one of them and drilled out the holes because the don’t fit well at all, then spotfaced for the fastener. I used the flat Superformance gaskets and they sealed well. I used the indy plain cast covers on another one. Still had to drill and spotface.
Curious how you get the holes baffled on any covers where a guy has to drill, or don't you worry about it?

Like Indy heads, the possibility of distributor cap to valve cover interference is there, especially with the large flanges on the fabricated covers.

I drilled my holes over the hold down in between the first two rocker pairs. I figure that the least amount of airborne oil is in that area. It’s worked for me for decades. I usually run a breather on each valve cover. Edelbrock 4420 beathers, no baffling. They also make baffled grommets for steel push in breathers.

I used a set from Mancini, had to touch up around the bolt holes with a Dremmel to get the nuts flush but otherwise fit nice. They have a wide flange that mates to the T.F. heads so no leaks. Yes they are baffled also.

That is the Summit Ones. They have baffles that screw in from the underside. I put a dab of red loctite on the screws too.
Used 1/4" studs, I think 2" long? with a flat washer under the nut. Regular hex nuts worked, but changed to 12-point ARP nuts.
Were those the fabricated style?

Yes they are. The set I got were listed as a wide body to clear aftermarket rockers like the 440 Source and work well. I dont see them listed on Mancinis page anymore.
Check out Todd at Moparts Racing (Marsh Performance). I got a set of his fabbed covers for my Indy 440-1 heads and am very happy with them. Tell him Coloradodave sent you...lol. I added the oil fill cap.
You wouldn't happen to have a part #? Just checked out their site and only see the 3 versions of MP and a cheaper chrome stamped set.

Those are fabbed? They look cast. Hard to tell on my phone.
My error, Hemirunner. They are cast aluminum. Baffles are included. No part number on my invoice. Todd indicated that there was a porosity problem with the Indy plain covers, which I originally had ordered.

I use Pirate mfg polished covers with the 270's and have no clearance issues. They come with baffles and fit quite well. No leaks to date.
What kind of finish do they come with, and if I may ask, how much are they?
