67 Belvedere radiator splash shield installation pictures

I installed the USCartool lower radiator core reinforcement panel and tonight when trial fitting the radiator splash shield I noticed that the reinforcement panel pushes the splash shield forward about half an inch. Will that cause any interference with the bumper or bumper brackets? Any pictures would be helpful. Modifying it will be a pita if I have to take that half inch out of the panel

This is how I did it on my Coronet -66. Hope it can be any help...

Thanks Mattias.....I think you took a different approach than I did. It looks like you replaced your lower core support with the new piece. I sandwiched them together figuring that it would make a "box" that was stronger. That's what ended up pushing mine forward by 1/2 - 3/4 inches. Looking at the shield, it has a rubber piece on the front that tucks under the bumper...hopefully that gives me enough wiggle room.

I also see that you converted from an AC car to a non AC car....I just completed the operation but made individual patch panels for each hole vs total replacement like you did. Below is my before and after pictures. One thing to note is that the heater core hole just below the bulkhead connector moves down and to the left about an inch. If you didn't catch that I can get you some measurements....I used the red panel in my before picture as my guide and still have it with the measurements marked.

That’s true, you should get an even stronger support by saving the original one also. My original support was totally messed up and I decided to take it all away...

Actually my car was originally non-AC, then converted to AC, and now, I did it back to non-AC agsin. I’m not sure I understand what hole you mean should be moved, but I would be interested to know if I have missed something.

If you look at the pictures I provided, there is a 1/2inch round hole about 2-3 inches below the square bulkhead connector. In the left picture it is nearly all the way in the corner of the stamped protrusion. In the right picture, that hole has been moved down approximately 1 inch and to the left about 1 inch. If your car was originally non AC and they did not move the hole....your firewall should look more like the picture on the right. If you need some exact measurements, let me know and I will send them to you tomorrow.

Now I understand what you mean. The original hole is still there so the non-AC package is fitting.
