Road Trip Gulf Coast to NorCal

No news yet, but the Hotel is full tonight. If it has tits or tires, it’ll give you trouble. Add: both at the same time.
Now THAT is true! Haha
Hey glad you are enjoying the trip overall and meeting nice people. Sorry about your car troubles. Hang in there! Glad you finally got it running and back on the road. Woo-hoo!

Now the pain. He did add ⛽️. Also said he spent a good amount of time cleaning a black goo or gunk out of the floor of the tank. Tank in for 1500 miles, don’t know wth that was.

3 pictures of your dinner plate?:poke::lol:
It must have been some really good grub for you to have featured it so thoroughly...
Glad you enjoyed CtC! It was GREAT to see you and you are genuinely good people!
There were over 8,440 cars registered this year when I went Thursday to register for 2020, and people were still registering for 2019!

Ya'll were 1 of 14 registered from California!
:thumbsup::confederateflag:

Saw a lot of cars on 49 South headed to the CtC. Gonna be a busy weekend.

Ouch - Well you’re on the road and didn’t have much of a choice. Maybe you’re lucky to have found someone that could understand and work on the old iron. Hope you’re done with the issues and prosper for the rest of the trip....

X2!
Traveling mercies and :praying:for an enjoyable and safe trip home! Keep the pix and updates coming!
It's raining here as the cold front moves through, but tomorrow looks like perfect weather for the BIG day!

Yep. Won’t sugar coat the thread. You’ll get it all. If I was a gambler, wouldn’t put any $ on Linda NOT getting on a westbound Southwest Jet between here and Amarillo.

Yep. Trust me. My wife is the most awesome greatest person in the world. Up right until the breaking point. We are talking about a girl that jumped off a amuzement ride mid ride.

OMG.

Yep. Picture this. My 350 pound *** in the back of a fiberglass LOG on the log ride at blue bayou water park. Her in the very very front with my 5 year old and 8 year old. You know cause of center of gravity. Got to slide right. Ok. First plunge. Younger boy starts crying. Wife freaks. Swipes both boys and jumps the $&/) off the log. Second much taller second plunge hear comes ole "Big Wes" with all the weight in the back. Riding nose high like a race boat. The look on the ride operators face. Using his hand to count realizing he may have just lost three people. Banned for Blue Bayou. Forever. Have the cerified letter to prove it.

State tax is 10%; I thought Arizona was bad at 8.8%.
Having said that I believe you got a fair deal. Considering shop labor at $100 per hour being universal and the fact that he actually took a stab at looking at your car, AND he did get you on the road I don't see anything unreasonable.
Black goo is interesting. I wonder if a can of seaform is required here from time to time?

I'm thinking it's $150, or it's the worlds slowest tech.... Typical book time to R&R a in-tank pump on a modern car is less than two hours... So un-familiar vehicle double the time better be more than enough..... I. pulled the EFI tank out of my Challenger a few weeks ago, took it out, replaced the fuel level sending unit & reinstalled, total time about 1.5 hrs....

Another thing that surprised me, in California labor isn't taxable... Apparently not the case in Louisiana...

Louisiana and Mississippi, labor must be taxed. The exception is (or was, not sure now) is labor on something that is or becomes a part of a house. When a company I worked for in the 90s installed satellite systems, it was not required to tax labor.

Sorry about all of that Brother. Still would rather have endured any of it than deal with the wife's breast cancer. Surgery went great, Dr says no obvious issues, 3-7 days for lab results now. I would much rather have listened to the complaining about the trip/cars.

Leaving Natchez, then north, Fort Smith, then West, Moore Oklahoma. Then Amarillo, just like the song.

Be safe and thank the wife from all of us you are still alive. As for black goo what type of fuel hoses are you running. Seen this goo stuff before and found out the inner lining of the fuel hose was coming apart. Had to replace everything from tank to injectors.
