wondering if I can get a breakdown of 1971 chargers but more specifically not just superbee, rt, base, 500 etc.

Breakdown of engine, trans and color would be great if possible.

Here’s what I have and if anyone can break it down or needs more options to get more a more specific number (personal) please feel free to let me know

1971 Charger 500
318- Auto console car
rallye gauges/cluster 150 Speedo
FY1 Top Banana with black top and black interior with accent stripes.

Thanks and if any info needed don’t hesitate to ask.

Looks similar to your stripe in the avatar but thinner and never been painted other than some touch ups on lower fenders and quarters. On the build sheet it shows option 7X on row 3 in the stripe box. From my research that is the double pin accent stripe.

Looking to see how many of the nearly 12,000 71 Charger 500 coupes were 318 console autos with FY1 Paint and black top/interior

IIRC you can get engine/trans (and even rear axle) breakdown by price class, but colors were only by percentages and not correlated to engine/trans combos.

I too would like to see production numbers on the 71 Charger 500's.
My car:
1971 Charger 500
383- 4-speed, black bench seat interior
AC, pdb,
K6 Dark Bronze Poly :)() full black vinyl
I seen a 383 4-spd, a/c Charger 500 in a mag once back in the 90's/2000's - and remember the story stating it was 1 of 182 but I've yet to find that article or info in this day and age.

Amen to that. I see a lot of break downs on advertised auction cars or the silly shows but our plain Jane cars I can’t find anything

Mines a 71 500 top banana 318 console auto ac car. I assume most were 318s and believe 383 4v was the biggest engine option for a 71 500. Not sure if they made 6 cylinders in the 500 or if they were base only.

I do know on the 318 the 4 speed option wasn’t available from what I can gather so it was either a 3 speed auto or manual.

I've seen several 440 U code 71 SE's

Not sure I've ever seen a U code 500 but logic says there could be.

I agree

And with all the records after 1967 stolen by aliens , how can anyone claim one of one or one of none on any Chrysler product ?

My book says 187 383 4 speeds.

No U codes listed for 500's. 616 440 SE's. 29 4 speeds and 587 auto's.

No slant 6's listed and no production figures for 318 cars. In my book anyway.

They want breakdown by colors and options

They don’t exist

Not that I have seen. Some sites have percentages but that's sketchy at best.

Is the Charger 500 emblem on the dash insert yellow ? I thought only the Super Bee was yellow .
