Road Trip Gulf Coast to NorCal

Ouch - Well you’re on the road and didn’t have much of a choice. Maybe you’re lucky to have found someone that could understand and work on the old iron. Hope you’re done with the issues and prosper for the rest of the trip....
Amen to that note  I'll second that...

Hot Springs, Arkansas now. Checked into a B and B called 1884 Wildwood on Park Avenue. Agreed to take a suite across the street. Beautiful digs. Traffic light is on 7, at Smackover, Arkansas. Looks like bought at an antique store, ran an extension cord. Only one in town.

I wouldn’t get in a Duck Tour Bus if you paid me.

Bet the wifey is happy with those digs
Yep. If she’d just go to sleep. Steelers on now, better than the Family Fued or Say yes to the Dress marathons I have to put up with. Tablet in hand, mindless novel open, tv on, there would be a radio on if there was one. Real life is too horrible. Some jobber wanted to pass on a two lane. I was following a pickup. I lowered the window to wave him around. He didn’t know if he could take both of us. Linda says “are you hot? STFU. If I even get off the throttle, she panicks and grabs the roof and dash like death is seconds away. Jesus Chrysler.

Dennis, Sorry about the Fuel Pump problem.. Great thread though, hope I can make a trip like this soon!

she panicks and grabs the roof and dash like death is seconds away.
Maybe lacing her bevs with some alcohol would be appropriate? Or let her drive?
We went to Hot Springs and stayed in a tent on Lake Ouachita. It was beautiful. I had one of the best steaks in my life and THE best portabello mushroom appetizer in the world at a restaurant in the main drag of Hot Springs. I'm sorry I can't remember the name of the place.
Be grateful you are still on vacation. I had one of the worst cases of post CtC blues today ever, and tomorrow I am going to feel like I got tossed into a blender.

I’d like to be a fly on the headliner listening to you guys. I could make a series on TV about your road trip.

Good morning road warrior!
My phone isn't exploding, yet, but now that I'm finished my coffee, I can only spend a little more time on the forum before I have to get to work. At least I don't have the post-CtC blues today like I did yesterday.
Dennis! I am really looking forward to your posts from the road trip!! I can live vicariously through you for a while. :D

Dennis, keep the great pics coming!! Love the play by play. I've done I40 a couple of times and always love the stretch west of Oklahoma City to Albuquerque. Old 66 sites along the way. Tucumcari at night is pretty neat. There is a diner just down and across the street from the Blue Swallow that had great food. Desert driving at night is my favorite. Stay safe!!

This our dream for the old roadrunner. To do what your wife and you are doing. You guys are certainly blessed. Safe travels and keep the updates and pictures coming..

My first wife would freak if I nailed the gas and would really freak if she thought I was about to race someone. One good thing is she liked to sleep while riding and that's when the hammer went down!
