Picking up a 65 new Yorker ( I know, c body)

All seats are torn, including the bench is there any diy/budget minded kits/ideas to make close to stock seat covers that don't break the bank? I can do some sewing, but not looking to build from scratch, just a good starting point. Shops want minimum 500 a seat, thanks!

I took apart seats and carefully separated each of the cover’s panels. Used the panels as templates for the new material (purchased from an upholstery shop). The wife sewed them together and I reinstalled them. You can do this by simply replacing the worn out panels instead of all of them. This task was easier that I envisioned.

I should have been clearer, I'm looking for actual seat material type repair, not just slap on a AutoZone type seat cover, thanks
Clear plastic is an Americana type of car accessory popular in the 60's and 70's. American car owners installed them when their car was new to keep the upholstery looking new.

You can even sometimes find suitable fabric at Jo-Ann!

I've even found material suitable for vinyl top replacement there.

...and sometimes it's on clearance for $2.99 a yard!

Yeah, I've seen that, but these seems are torn up, if he preserving rodant dropping patina lol

I agree with 68GTX man. I redid a 64 Buick seats and used material sourced from Hobby Lobby and Jo Ann fabrics. It was not as hard as I thought as long as I did not have very thick material so my wife's singer could sew it.

What you can do is you can just buy a waterproof cover the one for pets in amazon..maybe just get the fake one.

I'd like to find the pattern for the center of the seat, it's a square pattern with buttons on the corner probably was specifically made for these cars tho. Maybe older chairs too
