98% of all todays Americans could not pass this.

Do you think a Rutgers university gender studies professor could pass this test? She thinks Trump makes black women fat.

The dumbing down of society, all for the purpose of socially engineering the precious snowflakes....

What is applicable in 1912 is not today but my guess is some of you either dont have children or payed little to know part in your children's education.
Or it could be not knowing what is actually taught in todays schools and being spoon fed BS propaganda.
What children learn in grade school today is far more involved than what I learned in parochial school, sixty years ago. I see it every time I visit my grandchildren's school(s) for activities involving families of students.

With all respect that is a statement put forth by a select group who looks to place blame anywhere except were it belongs.
Who raises the alleged "snowflakes"? Id assume some would like to assign a certain group, which again would only be a lame attempt to shift blame.
In short order these snowflakes will be attending our needs as we age, defending our nation and governing us, while attempting to keep the world a safe place.
Before one points fingers, just remember who hands off todays world and the condition of affairs to the next generation.
The real question is did we do as good a job as our elders. Then we can talk about snowflakes and society.

That may be but they are forgetting to teach common ******* sense nowadays. I have two kids in college (both deans list students) that can barely write in cursive. It pains me to watch these two 4.0 GPA kids write a paper.

The test would be difficult by any standard.
They do have a typo in the spelling section.
The word endeavor is spelled incorrectly.
Hopefully I can outrun the truant officer.

Well to all who said kids today learn this stuff, BS my wife a teacher of 45 years retired for 4 years, can tell you the vast majority of kids don’t know ****, can’t spell can’t read can’t write their name know nothing of history or geography. The whole school Can hardly meet SOL requirements. What’s wrong? Some so called intellectuals thought it was better to keep the kids self esteem up high instead of being called stupid

All due respect back - and I totally agree that parents are doing an equally crappy job of it - but our public education system in this country is a shambles and has been for a long time now.
The emphasis has not been on the fundamentals - "readin', writin' and 'rithmetic" stuff - but instead on all manner of
child psychology type engineering for many years now.
The results are obvious - we're not competitive in the world education-wise; instead, we churn out generations of barely literate kids who can't often even balance their checkbooks or work up the numbers on taking out a loan at the bank.
Oh, but they got self-esteem out the ying-yang, by God...
All full of entitlement expectations, but rarely any work ethic to actually earn their way through this life.

There's reasons our kids, on average (there's always exceptions) don't do well at fundamental knowledge.
There's reasons the work market is so devoid of candidates for all the trades, too.
There's reasons the "stay at homes" often wind up in Mama's basement into their late 20's/early 30's.

WE are failing our children (and now grandchildren). WE have done too good a job seeing to it they have it
better than we did. Spoiled and entitled, WE have done them a great disservice in the process.
The very backbone of the country is in jeopardy as a result.

Bull, there your kids, my kids and everyones kids. Everything you described has been also done by our generation.
What generation has huge credit card debt? What generation needs a car for every driving member? What generation constantly wants bigger and better?
Plenty of people think their entitled for sure, no argument there, and kids in general are out of control in schools but again is it the child or his parents to blame?
This child psychology verses the fundamentals your quoting, I just have no idea what your talking about or were you got that, except you read it, and I have a idea were
I mean do my grandkids get a different education than kids in other states?
I go down the shore this summer, I see young people working at every possible job during summer break. I walk down the street to any store on the strip, all I see is white kids black kids brown kids all working.
Sure everyone has a cell phone im sure but they are working and most are going to school.
My Amazon delivery person, back girl, couldn't be more than 21. Working at night delivering packages at night mind you, going to community college in the day.

None of these kids to my dismay write in cursive.
Id not be to concerned if they have a 4.0 average
