My Kobalt compressor pump took a ****, so I was on the hunt for a new pump. Found the HF pump, good reviews and it puts out 15.2cfm@90psi. Picked it up and this thing is YUGE! V twin Harley, lol!! Anyway, got it mounted and figured out I needed a 4.36 diameter electric motor pulley to be where the pumps making the cfm. So I found a 4.25, puts me 50rpm shy of 1050 for the pump. Plus it’s dual pulley to match the HF pump pulley. Almost done getting it together.

now the fun of belt sizing

So the motor pulley is smaller now? Amps should go down; that's a plus. But check the draw anyway, just to be sure.

Going to look for belts today.

Was leaking oil all over my tank, probably just a crank seal, but I thought I’d upgrade.

Motor pulley is 4.25 now and was 3.75.

She’s up and running! No leaks, but my base (cut down pallet) echos like crazy now. So I’ll need to address that.

How do you get rid of the old one with something like that? Congrats on the new compressor.

I don’t understand your question.

I wanted to start a "show us your compressor" thread...... never did

here's my 1982 Quincy :fool:
