Was the air scoop on a hood treatment car entirely black except for the air grabber decals?? I looked on internet and have seen them when in the raised position both body color and black. I am talking about the sides under decals and underside of the scoop. My original scoop is entirely black, but looks to have been spray bombed sometime during its life.

Black, except the top is painted either body color or flat black depending on if you got the stripe treatment. This included painted blackout on the hood plus the transverse stripe on the trunk.

Which transverse stripe on the trunk would that be on a road runner?

This is the rear stripe

This is what it looked like from the rear without the hood and rear stripe. These cars received a metal road runner emblem with corresponding holes in the trunk that the stripe cars did not have.

Oh that one. :) Were they all supposed to be black? Mine was reflective white, but I didn't have a hood stripe.

If I remember correctly, they were black, white or gold. My black one is reflective too but I have a faint memory they were also available non-reflective.

I actually really like the reflective properties of the stripe. If I have to park the car on a street at night you can really see the car well from behind. It's a nice safety precaution to avoid getting the car smashed!!!

Here is a shot where the sun caught the reflection - makes it look totally different!
