I recently bought a 1970 Plymouth Superbird that’s been parked since the early 80’s! The car was sold new at Hi Line Dodge in Havre MT. In the early 80’s the car made its way into Wyoming where it sat until I recently bought the car. The car is original Lemon Twist yellow, U code 440, 4 speed and Dana 60 with 3.54 gears. Car has 73,000 miles on the odometer and the drivetrain is numbers matching. The car was last started in the early 2000’s and with a little priming the car fired right up with zero smoke or knocking! The car also came with a lot of NOS parts for a Superbird. The plan is to have the car painted this winter and back on the road by next summer!

Car came with extra NOS fender scoops, nose, wing, extra original back glass, Z brackets, headlight buckets and more!

Very cool find and article to go with! Congrats on the new addition and looking forward to the restoration!

Start a build thread here in the restoration section at some point!

That's an amazing find. I really don't mean to be crass, but in the interest of people in the community having an idea of cost, would you mind sharing what you paid?
I understand if you want to keep it private.

I don’t want to say exactly what I paid but you don’t see them sold to often in this condition. The car is 100% rust free, have all the parts for the car and the parts I do have are in very nice shape. I will say I paid under 70k for the car and all the extra parts. I’m good friends with the previous owner and he wanted me to own the car so he helped me out on the price I feel truly fortunate to own it.

So you mentioned an extra wing, wing supports, rear glass, fender scoops, and I see an extra nose cone. I see some 70 bucket seats, and what looks like some headlight bucket parts, and other possible parts for it in the last picture. Looks like a gold mine in parts. With the parts you stole it. Do your friend a favor and give it a proper restoration.

Naa just Joe Dirt it.... Kidding awesome find and awesome car.. The only Super Bird I have ever seen up close was Jerry Halls.. Nice car he has.. I guess I dont get out often enough.. lol
