Had my instructions from Mrs Kiwi.....pick up the candy on the way home....no please, just do it...

Who else is ready for the onslaught of kids on the prowl? Obviously we're a day ahead.

The kids in my condo like to use costumes and ask for candy, this year am gonna buy a creepy mask so I scare the hell out of them, día de muertos (day of the dead ) is what we celebrate here to remember our beloved ones, world wide known, watch the movie "COCO"

, día de muertos (day of the dead )

Fascinated with this holiday since I first played "Grim Fandango" way back in the day. Who says you cant learn anything from video games??!! Very, very respectful way to party with their beloved departed. I think all cultures could learn from them!

I didn’t realize Halloween was an international day. I guess I always thought it was an American thing. Another one of those days created for the marketing coin. Guess not.....

JUST looked it up. I guess Halloween originated in Scotland. What do I know.... not much. Thank you google....

Looks like it may be a light turnout today. Suppose to rain all day and get colder by tonight of a high of only 48 with winds. More Reese's for me....:)

I miss it since moving out to a rural area. I use to set up a scary front yard at my old 150 year old house, complete with fog machine, strobes and looping scary music. It was a bit much for the little ones sometimes though, as they stopped at the street entrance and refused to go any closer.

I think we're going to hide this year.

Our small neighborhood of roughly 65 houses is a known honey hole for many other neighborhoods.

Some years we have more than 400 "kids" (that's when I stopped counting), and bumper to bumper traffic.

When our son lived at home, he and I would do some fairly elaborate costume and "set" stuff.
For years, we could hear the trick or treater's coming down the street talking about what we had done in past years.

That's kind of cool.

I was thinking of dragging outside, one of my home theater speakers and blast some animal roar when they knock on the door. My home theater speakers are actual Theater speakers, Altecs with great horns. They truly boom when watching movies with explosions and such.

I think I'll get the wife to dress up and I'll keep begging for candy!

Don't imagine we'll see anyone this year at the end of our 1200 foot laneway, pouring rain.. calling for well over 1.5" to be exact and then snow starting about the witching hour with HIGH winds to boot.

Yeah, We bought 20lbs. of candy and the rain and snow will probably keep 90%
of the Trick or Treaters away. Guess who will end up eating it all? The Wife and I!
This sudden onslaught of bad weather west of Chicago has me bummed out. Hope
everyone out there has a fun and safe Halloween!

We've had our haunted house opened since Friday. I do all the artwork. Here are a few I did this year. It's all latex housepaint on plywood.
