Hello
I am installing new QA1 upper control arms in a 68 Charger. I'm also using new QA1 eccentric camber bolt adjusters. Does it make any difference which way these bolts and eccentric washers are installed? Is it possible to get it 180 out? Thanks

You can't really be out 180°. Install them with the nuts in the engine bay and make sure the washers are located in the "ears" properly as you tighten them slowly (to avoid flattening them). Do a search on here to see which go in and which go out - this will affect camber and castor, I think it's rears in and fronts out to start but it will change from car to car depending on frame alignment etc. Once they are located you can rotate the cams and see the affect it is having on the control arm. You need to find an old school alignment shop to do the final adjustments, a new place probably won't have a clue and may screw it up. Or play around and do it at home, you may be surprised how close you can get it using a tape measure and spirit level. You also need to get your ride height set first as this will affect the camber and the toe.

Thanks for your input. What do you mean by "which go in and which go out"? The eccentric washers (8 each, 4 per side) are identical. Thanks

The old school guy that aligned my 65 said I had one set in backwards. He flipped them around to make alignment adjustment easier. Check the FSM for more info.

Sorry mate, I may be confused by your question. If you mean which way the washers go onto the bolts, then as you say they are identical so it shouldn't matter which way. When I'm referring to "in" and "out" I mean the large part of the cam "in" toward the center of the car or "out" toward the road.

Point cam down, nuts to engine compartment and cams on the same plain at both end of the bolt. What ever adjustment that need to be made can be made from that point. If not replace more parts.

OK that's what I thought; cams pointing down. I should have done a belter job of explaining. Thanks for all your input.
