Hey guys was just wondering before I buy a new set of headers.. what are the best fitting ones out there for the 66 to 67 .. I have a 440 with a t5 speed. The headers that were on the car are just a mess.. the guy took the hammer to them everywhere. I really dont want to go through all that with a new set of headers

TTI’s...I recently bought a set for my 383 68 Charger and they fit like a glove.

Hooker.
They made headers for your car when it was still brand new.

I'm an old guy. Over the years I've installed dozens of sets of headers on many different cars. The only set of headers I ever installed that needed nothing, not even one dent, was the TTI 2.5" tube headers I installed on my '62 440 powered convertible. Initially it looked like a dent would be needed to clear the steering box. The instructions said if the headers don't clear everything measure the distance between the center line of the crankshaft and the K frame. A measurement was provided. The instructions went on to say if the measurement is short most likely the motor mounts are bad. I put in new motor mounts and everything cleared.

That answer depends on how much money you want to spend.
Best fit, money no object? TTI ist, Doug's 2nd.
Anything else will require at least some modifications/ "persuasion" with a BFH.

As has already been said, TTI.

Doug’s look nice too. I went with TTI as I wanted a 1-7/8” primary and Doug’s only come in 2” primary on an RB header.

I've used the TTIs and Schumaker headers and both were perfect fit with no modifications. I'm giving Doug's a try on my current build, but they look very well made.

Are TTI headers equal length?

No. You won’t find an equal length header for a mopar unless you have custom ones fabricated, and those would be unconventional as far as routing goes.

Finding on the net that there are Hooker headers that are equal length, depending on the engine/car combination.
I guess it depends on what a guy is after...

I suppose you are all familiar with the "dented header" test on Youtube?
Totally amazing how many dents on a header you can have without any changes in HP.

As a result of that particular Freiberger experiment, I laid into the Hedmans on my 440 when swapping out
engines with an 8 pound persuader. Formerly, they got right up on the smaller Dakota starter I have on
the thing.
They don't anymore. :)

Doug’s 2 inch fit pretty good, and are built like a tank. I did have to clearance # 1 at the torsion bar, and # 2 touched the shock tower when I got on it. They fit angle plug heads great! From what a I’ve seen tti’s might fit the best. My car is a 66 Coronet 500 with a 440.

Cheap or good, pick one.

TTi screwed me. Had to put a dent in my 1 7/8 TTI headers for my 70 Charger to clear my idler arm. If you spend that kind of money for headers they better fit. They blamed me for them not fitting. Said something was wrong with my car lol lol . Said they would bend me another passenger side but I would have to cover shipping both ways. Told them to kiss my….

Do Not use Patriot headers ever
They are the worst
The only they fit was the heads
And no help from them
Horrible all the way around

Don’t have any problems with factory HP manifolds. Car will be run at street legal a bit and rest hopefully driving and car shows. ( If I ever get it finished).
