Was told that the Taconite mines are mined out. The ore was 90% iron, but now all we have is 10% iron.
That's why I hated to see our fresh steel in the form of farm equipment and old cars going to China.

I have taken a few loads of mixed metals - copper aluminium and steel to the local scrappy in the past week. The prices here have peaked for the year, and will start to drop off by late November. Always the same here ....get your scrap in mid Oct - mid Nov, and the price is at it's peak. No good going the week before Christmas.
