I was scrolling through AMD's facebook page and on October 4th they mention they are working on 73-74 Charger quarter panels! I need one for my right side. I emailed (don't have facebook) asking them when they will be ready but haven't received a reply. Has anyone heard anything about these?

It would be nice to see more available sheet metal for those 2 years. Haven't heard nothing yet on quarter panels....

I need 6 of them! They made a batch of them a few years back didn't they?

I'm thinking they are full quarters and not the skins Tabco offers.

I just had Tabco quarter skins put on a 73 Charger by a body shop and he said the quality was pretty good. I don't think they make the full quarter panels for 73 & 74. I do wish somebody would make them and fenders & door skins for them.

Not yet, but it sounds like AMD is working on them. I guess I shouldn't assume they are full quarters, but the skins wouldn't make sense since they are already available.

But not full quarters. Does anyone know someone at AMD to confirm if they will be full quarters or just skins?

There is only one company making the skins, and that's Tabco. Sherman slaps a sticker on and resells them. They are supposedly not bad for skins but I believe they are a different gauge from stock. Here's hoping AMD takes the plunge and repops full quarters. They should also do roof skins.

The one I have had both Sherman and Goodmark stickers on it.

No sign of any Tabco branding, but I'm 100% positive that's what it is.

It's almost as thick as factory but not quite.

The body lines are maybe 97% as crisp.

I wouldn't hesitate to use it.

Most 73s in the rust belt were SEs, so we get a lot of rot on the upper quarters from the vinyl top and window plug. Full quarters would be a good thing for a lot of people.

I emailed AMD again and they replied that they have decided to hold on producing the quarter panels. They are just too busy with other cars and moving to a new facility. He did say they will revisit it after the move is finished next year. This would be a great time for members to send them requests so they realize there is a need for them.

It's about time! I just recently got a 71-4 bulge hood from them, and am pretty dang impressed with it. Would love to see full quarters rather than skins...

All of the third generation B body sheetmetal from AMD was fitted by my friend Gary. He let them use his NOS and nice used pieces for templating. He made them retool some parts as many times as was necessary to make sure that they fit correctly. His nice original Ramcharger hood was the template for the third generation Charger hoods.

Be sure to thank Gary for his great work. Maybe he can let them know the need for the full quarters.

I may be seeing him on Sunday. I would like to see them make third generation B body roof skins as well. They fit both 71 to 74 Chargers and Plymouths, so it would cover several model years of both b body cars.

we ended making the skins by ourself

Roof skins make the most sense since it covers so many years. There are a lot of vinyl top cars out there!
