For the Romantics here: When did you know that SHE was the ONE ?

The first wife was not an emotionally secure woman. We met when we were young so there was a lot of maturing left in store for us. In a short time, she got lazy. She got comfortable . How else can you explain a woman gaining 70 lbs in her early 20s without having children? She gained a bunch of weight, THEN went on a diet plan from Jenny Craig....Remember that company?
It cost over $3300 over several months for her to go from just over 200 lbs down to 140. About the same time, I had been working extra hours to pay for the meal plans and to pay off her car. She was 10 lbs from her goal weight....As soon as the car was paid off, she decided to leave! She had a renewal of confidence after the weight loss, her car was paid for and she left.
It was the best thing that she could have done for me. It opened the door to allow me to find a better woman.

when I took her out for ice cream :D

Lisa (RIP) I met when she 1st was tending bar at my Country Club
I had just moved & didn't know many people yet
I had just played a round & went in for a Makers Mark double
sat at the bar & I noticed a new bartender,
nice eyes nice teeth great legs/***, slender snug pants etc.

I didn't really talk to her much, the 1st time
the next day I was coming in from another round of golf
& sat in the same seat, at the same bar...
She approached me with a Makers Mark double in hand
& said how did you do today Mr. ---

I was sort of shocked, I didn't mention my name
she asked around, to others to get my name etc.
I was sort of bummed I had just had to put my 14+ y/o lab down
she knew that too

she had been asking around about me

She was a country girl at heart, lived some 50 miles away
commuted down to the valley for work...
We talked a bit, found out she liked cars & 4x4's
she was a great & competitive horse person
(Barrel Racing, Rodeos, Reining & cutting horses, Quarter horses)
& she loved dogs/animals too
she had a nice rig too
Plus was she was slim & beautiful, about 3 years younger than me
happy go lucky...

So (I know some guys :icon_fU: hate starting a sentence with So :poke: )
I would sit at her bar station, when I'd go in for drinks
a couple times, over a couple weeks she would strike up the conversation
I really didn't think much of it at 1st....
Just a nice girl/lady, smiling all the time & joking with fellow members etc.

About 2 weeks later
(I knew her for maybe a month 5 weeks total)
she shows up at my front door
(got my address from the guys in the Pro-shop)
she had an 8 week old purebred Chocolate Lab puppy in hand
set him down, 1st thing he does is **** on my entryway tile...
I had to laugh, it's a little puppy, he needed to poop

So, I invited her in
I said "wow you got a puppy, you know I love dogs & Especially labs"
she says "yeah, I know, I bought him for you"
I almost broke down & cried, from happiness
(mind you this was an $800 pedigree dog, with AKC papers & cute as hell)
she didn't have that kind of $$$ to be buying me a dog
she did it so I would be happy again...

I knew right then we'd be soul mates

man I miss her

Submit & I were fixed up on a blind date in March of 1986 & we then started seeing each other on almost a daily basis. A week after we started dating was my birthday and I was surprised with a balloon-a-gram that she sent to me shortly after I got home from work. I knew then that she was very special. I proposed about 3 weeks after we met and were married in June 1987. 32 years later and we still make other laugh and smile.

That picture made me laugh so hard.:rofl::rofl:

I was fresh off a divorce after a very long year of marriage. When I met Pam she was cooking at my favorite watering hole. I stopped back by the bar later that night and managed to get myself ejected out of the jeep I was riding in right at the front door. As I was collecting myself Pam came out she had some dude in a headlock kicking him out of the bar. My next words were Damn baby I like it rough and ready (I had been drinking heavily) what's your number. She gave it to me and that was 28 years ago. She has been by my side through good times and bad and never wavered. I would go through the gates of hell for Pam, she is my best friend and I know there is none better for me.

Had a 51MG TD as one of my 1st cars.
Starter went out while on a date with her.
She pushed me a half block until I got it
started & didn't complain a bit.

Soon as I paid her.

for the haircut. She was my hair stylist. Asked her out and the rest is history. What’d ya think I meant?

When I found out she was going to make a lot of money for many years to come, she was sexy too. Almost 50 years and she’s still my best friend.

When I saw her in a snakeskin bikini.
Now 18 years later, I'm surprised she hasn't stabbed me in my sleep.lol

It was the second time I lost my mind.

Cam is my second marriage too. First one - won’t dignify with text. Cam and I met thru friends while she was still living in Saigon. She immigrated to the US unbeknownst to me until my friend let me know. I took her around quite a few times as friends to show her the ropes around here. One day we were downtown Laguna Beach crossing the busy street. I took her hand and knew then she was just to fabulous to let go of. We dated for 5 years before I pulled the trigger. Been married for 15 now. She’s the most wonderful woman I’ve ever met hands down. I won’t bore you with the whole story. I’ll suffice it to say I love her more today then way back when. When she got cancer last year I was devastated and heartbroken. It rips your heart out to go thru that with someone you love so much. It’s changed our lives for sure but we’re closer today than we’ve ever been. Being so blessed you almost feel as though you don’t deserve someone like her. I work at it every day to ensure our marriage flourishes for the duration. She’s a keeper.

Cindy and I met across this very table in Germany. We both had been married before and learnt a lot from those experiences. I can honestly say she is my soulmate. We finish each other’s sentences, we have a ton of fun together and most of all we are best friends.

We have a great time together and enjoy a laugh. This is us before the Rodeo in San Antonio last month. Zoolander style. She is a keeper.

This one was mesmerized by the fact that at 17 I could fix our dead bus on a Science Club road trip to Washington DC, when a garage mechanic couldn't and we were back on our way after he'd wasted half a day. She also appreciated my car and still does some 40 years later, married for 37.5 of those!

Ro and I knew we were soulmates the minute we met.

We have been together 16yrs. We'll probably be one of those couples that if one dies the other will die soon after.
