Rear spoiler placement

Quote from the 1st Gen site...
The spoiler that is on ebay by showcars is warped and junk, does not fit at all . On top of that, the guy will not refund shipping, and you have to pay a restocking fee. The guy is an asshole and will not work with you. Tell your friends and any other person looking to get something from this guy STAY AWAY FROM SHOWCARROB ON EBAY RIPP OFF BEWARE

It is reproduced from a Knock off aluminum spoiler.. Just dug my car out of the garage to fit.. BLAH..... crappy.. ..

ok, now what one of you high rollin Charger owners needs to do is buy this spoiler unit from Classic and find a fiberglass company to make molds and sell it for a cheaper price. I guess hemi spoilers are in the same league as hemi engines. $$$$$$$$$

Love to have it, but not at that price.
The car is hard enough to keep clean as it is.
It would probably just create an area on top of the rear quarter to collect dirt.

I wonder how many people have been taken by SHOWCARROB. Beware to all -- don't buy that fiberglass piece of junk spoiler from SHOWCARROB. You've been formally warned.

Just so you all know .If you order through ebay on these. They are not already made they are made when bought .About a 3 week wait then shipping time. It was almost a month and a half to arrive in the same country .. 200.00 shipping was out rages .. Dont expect this to be a overnight service at this price. High shipping rate is just to cover his ebay fee. You would think for the price of the parts attention to detail would be there. Not at all .full of pin holes certain base areas are not even with material. And these feel very brittle .

On the aluminum spoiler, I don't think I'm that much a tight wad.
But that seems a little steep for 3 skinny pieces of aluminum.
For that price I can get a whole bed side.
Or for 300 dollars more I can get a whole hood.

I just got a flyer.
I've got nothing against 51 Ford pickups.
But I wonder what the demand is for hoods.

But no quarters or metal for 66 67 Chargers?
I do know someone in the aluminum mfg. business.
Hum. I also wonder.

A couple of things, note the Y.O. add says, arriving soon......don't think so....
There was not enough interest from buyer's a little while ago, when 383 Wing was considering doing another run.
Read an article just recently, that stated, the original part number for the spoiler, had an R or an N in the part number in reference to Ray Nichols, and the work they put into the design.

Here's a few pictures of my fiberglass spoiler from Showcases. It needed some final prep work, but nothing crazy.
It fits quite well I think.

Looks pretty good, how many hours did you have to put into it? And, tried to get a better look at your fasteners, what did you use? I have still not decided to use for fasteners, do not like the like the fit of stainless phillipshead screws, picked up metric stainless button head screws, a while back, but still have not committed!!

The body shop did the prep. They didn't spend more than an hour on it. They're professionals though, so it may take an average joe longer. I used stainless button head screws as well. Yours looks great too, is it aluminum?

Those are the phillips head number 8 machine fasteners. Was looking thru my pics for a shot of the metric button head fasteners. The main reason I started looking around for some what different fasteners, was, this is an aluminum spoiler, and the predrilled holes are just shy of 1/4 inch. So 1/4 wont work, the recommended fasteners are number 8 machine screws (very loose in the hole). Having spent 4 years assembling aircraft, I just think there might be a better way. Keep in mind, the original spoiler's were screwed on, yup, screws...

Those are not a "reproduction" spoiler....it's a cheap plastic copy that is sure to break or crack as soon as you start to attach it to the car as the originals were....I hope the person that made those has taken into account of the double compound curve of the trunk lid, otherwise it's not gonna fit and will break....the 'glass spoiler has been tried before, and failed

I'm still working on getting a small second run of the aluminum ones made .....
