......the MN Gold Coronet has got her pump housing stuck on her like a tick on a dog. Both bottom bolts busted half way through the pump housing. The good news.....if you can call it that, is that there is lots of meat on the bone to weld onto, but the bad news is I've only been able to back the pump off the block about 1/4 inch. The lower left bolt has about and inch protruding from the hosing, as compared to the the lower right....which broke halfway through. I thought that if i could just walk the housing forward off the bolts...I could then work them out of the block....but lord, the rust in the hosing is gripping those bolts like a vise. Has anyone got this lucky before, and what did you do to get that sucker off there?

Heat that's how you can get to loosen up.you need a torch that will get hot . Not a Bernz o matic a real torch.

Soak the bolts with on blaster and wiggle it off?

Otherwise, if there is some serious rust, hit it with some good heat?

Keep working it back and forth. Got an air compressor? Blow out the holes each time you move it. Lots of times that will get rid of the crud that's keeping it from sliding off. A bit of hammering will jar the crud loose and then blow it out.

....lord, I marinated those bolts with PB, then Deep Creep. The Hosing itself, then the extension for the pulley gripped the bolts more then the block. Never had one this stuck. Rust particles binding the bolts is the rub. I got most out using the same method. These last two....the longest, are the ex-wives here.

....and I'd buy you a case of suds for the effort....but I'm in North Texas....hehe

...and the good news again on 67 and earlier-

if you fail or it's too much, "simply" find an engine with a casting date a few months prior to the car's SPD...

BINGO- the "original" engine!

PM me where your located, Im in NTX as well and have a torch. If your not to far off Id be willing to help out.

....lol....but I like the Benzo.
In lieu of a "Benzo", perhaps you mean Bernzomatic, which is propane and air torch, maybe you could consider a Bernzomatic MAPP gas which is MethylAcetlenePropopylene, a derritive of acetelyene gas. It burns at 3x hotter than propane with air and even hotter with oxygen, with a very concentrated flame. Just my opinion of course.

Are you saying you never used them?? Also, seems like I remember having a set of exhaust manifold bolts that you wanted. Do you still need them? Found them then couldn't find them.....because I put something else over on top of em....duh.

....lol, I may still need them on this car. Its a taller order working on a convertible. I used just about every one of those bolts sir. Ended up selling the Bee to a guy in GA, and the 440 to a guy in New Zealand.

What engine? If I’m reading this right, A good crow bar-pry bar between the housing and block works.
