I am going to put an electric pusher fan on my 63 Max Wedge race car. Can use a 16 inch. What have some of you guys used? Many to choose from, straight blade, curved blade, cfm, and of course the dreaded amp draw. Thanks for the input.

I used a derale two stage fan 16217. Worked well but was a tight fit. Upsized the 22" rad to a 26" and no longer needed the fan.

Electric fans are useless when you have adequate cooling. Why not add a few pounds with a bigger thicker radiator with a shroud if you don't have one. My opinion is it a few pounds is better than a heavier amp draw. The harder the alternator works the more HP it pulls. There are terrific aluminum radiators out there that will cool your higher HP engines. If you look at the 68 Hemi Dart it uses a 22" radiator with no shroud. I have no issues with cooling on mine, but the original radiator has been recored and the water pump is the correct one as factory installed. Just my opinion but an electric fan is covering up another problem. I realize that all the new cars are using electric fans that are computer controlled, but look at the radiator they're using. The science and design has to be perfect to get by with a radiator that wouldn't cool a lawnmower if they were water cooled.

Does this work out at the drag strip, meaning the cooling capacity, not the additional weight??

It's been quite sometime since its been there and I mean years but never ran hot even with little time between rounds. Best I remember it ran up to about 200 on the run, and cool back down to about 185 on the return lane.
