Swapping Knuckles Side to Side

When using a factory E Body front-mounted caliper disc brake setup (knuckles, rotors, and calipers) to convert a '69 and earlier B Body to disc brakes with a rear-mounted caliper setup, can you just swap the knuckles side to side to get the calipers in the correct orientation? Thanks!
 
Yes, as long as the sway bar clears.

Many people do it & generally not a problem, there is one issue the brake hose but as long as you are aware of it you should be fine...

Originally the brake hose always crosses the steering axis, or more simply stated the connection to the caliper is normally on the side opposite where the hose connects to the steel line...

The reason for this is by crossing the steering axis the hose doesn't see much of the steering angles, it only seeing suspension travel...

When the caliper & steel line are on the same side the hose can get pinched or over extended...

You need to make sure the hose is long enough for full suspension & steering travel.... And that it can't get kinked...
 
Yes you can. 1 Wild RT is correct in his comment about the usual brake hose routing.
When you swap the knuckle to rear mount on the 69 use a 15” brake hose. Mid 80’s dodge diplomat hoses or 1969 camaro brake hose will both work for this. When you install the hose do so in such a way that it won’t rub the tie rod end adjusting sleeve or the lower control arm. I’ve attached a couple pics.
Mounting the calipers to the rear on a 69 is only necessary if you have a factory 69 or 8 sway bar set up. If by chance you have a 70 k member and sway bar I think you can forward mount them. The reasoning is that on 69 and earlier it'll hit the sway bar.

This bottom pics makes it look close to the control arm, but it’s not, it’s just the angle of the pic. Had my friend run the steering from side to side to ensure no running/kinking/or anything suspect. Keep an eye on the hoses more often than you might normally for wear, cracking etc... they may need replacement sooner than a hose routed the normal way
