Hi all. Kinda an odd deal. My Mother had a 70 Coronet 500 station wagon years ago. The trans went out and it sat at our farm in the yard. My brother in his infinite wisdom gave the car to his friend who has a 70 R/T and needed front sheetmetal. I saw the wagon at his place and always wanted to have it back to restore. I went and talked to him and he said he wanted to use the front end on his car. But knew the car had sentimental value to me. He said find me a pair of front fenders for mine and it's yours. LOL. Well I got him some fenders and now I have to go get my wagon.

Thats awesome, the old wagons are starting to come into their own. I have to admit that I like the Coronet wagons and Satellite wagons that were made up to look like Superbee and Roadrunners (respectively). I saw one Satellite that had an air grabber, pistol grip, dash, etc. looked like a RR wagon, was awesome.

I have grown to appreciate the very cars that I did NOT like as a younger man.

While your wagon and this orange one were NOT cool to me or my friends back some 30 years ago, time has changed my opinion. Today's styling has changed so much that I like looking back to the past far more than admiring what is being sold now.
I'd never build a car like this orange one. I'd stick with a sedate color like they were built with.
I even like green cars now. The 20 year old Greg would barf at the thought of owning a green car!

A little Armor All and that simulated wood grain paneling will look like new!

Here's what it was. No funky mirrors though!! LOL.

Looks like your Mom was a little sportier than mine! LOL. Nice Charger.

Wow, I love that wagon!! What does a complete project go for ballpark ( engine hasn't run in 20 years, couple panels need replacing etc)

I'm assuming this is a high priced wagon?

I have a 65 New Yorker wagon, and one of these would be a nice stable mate

Thanks,my step dad bought the Charger new. The wagon looks like a cool project! It would make a great parts chaser. I always wanted to build a two door sedan delivery out of a wagon. I would use a pair of 66/67 post coupe doors, and put 70 B body door skins on them, and move the door post back. Then I would graft 70 Coronet quarter skins on it. Thats what I would do with a wagon, but I like to build one off Mopars!

Perhaps a two-door conversion?

Not bad for paint 3D.

I agree, but the doors need to be the same length as coupe doors to look right, thats why I would use the earlier post coupe doors, and reskin them. They would already have the right glass, vent windows, and upper door frames to jibe with the roofline.

Four door cars are in this same category. People hated 4 door cars from their younger days. I’m a little younger and never could understand why. Even though I do understand the reason and people prefer 2 doors over 4. But, is that enough to be turned off by a four door ? I don’t think so. I have a 4 door 1950 Chevy Deluxe that I love regardless of what others think. You just say the words 4 door when talking about it and people act like you cussed at them, lol !
Just like the wagons. That is changing though. Due to the lack of cars this age period. And like the wagon, four doors are now more rare than vintage 2 doors. It has an appeal to me as a car that is different from the norm. Different from what is still out there. Nice wagon

Because the glass and vent windows will not match the A pillar or the roof line. The post coupe doors will.

The OP may want to restore the car back to how it was when he was a kid. The sedan delivery panel wagon was just what I would do.

I'd like to have a 2 dr wagon too. That would be pretty cool. I'm a Bodyman by trade. Hmmmmmm

:D Or since I don't have the original engine anymore, how about a Hemi ,4speed 4 door coronet wagon? I could Race it on weekends. lol.
