Hey all -

Looking for reccomednations and pros/cons for front suspension kits for my 1969 Coronet Convertible. This car is a complete ground up resto. I have found kits by Hotchkis and QA1. Does anyone have direct experience with these kits and feedback? Reviews are pretty light on their sites and Summit. Any other kits I should be looking at?

The car will be a restomod. I want to improve the car as much as possible in the supsension department without taking away from the classic look.

Hi

I have the QA1 kit with a Borgeson power steering upgrade in my 1970 RR

it corners fairly well and with .960 torsion bars it sets up a little lower and is “stiff”. The fit was very good. I’m happy

I have QA1 on my 68 Charger, including the crossmember, strut rods and sway bar. Good fit and not stupid money either.

I rebuilt the factory parts and upgraded to heavy duty tie rod ends and Firm Feel level 2 PS box. The control arms have rubber bushings. I commonly get the comments on how good the ride is. No squeaks, either.

Do you want a great ride or a car that takes corners fast?

I am going to have to go for cornering fast. I don't mind a stiff ride and I am building this thing a bit on the silly side as opposed to comfort.

The may I suggest looking in the Pro-touring/resto-mod section of this glorious forum. Also, @biomedtechguy is currently going the cornering route with his car and would be a good one to follow as he completes his upgrades.
