My Hemi Car has Chromoly Solid Mounted Wheelie Bars that only have a small amount of adjustment for the height of the wheels off of the track.
I notice a lot of racers use Wheelie Bars (Like DVW's) that have a leaf spring on the bottom that allows the front end to come up and then the bars/springs forces the front end of the car back down.
Why do some cars (like mine) have solid mounted wheelie bars and other cars (Like DVW's) have the spring mounted wheelie bars ?
Input is always appreciated as I have NO real experience on them.

I like and have solid mount with hemi joints for wheelie bars.
I've seen a few guys break off spring mounted wheelie bars

Setting the bars too low with cause the car to unload the rear slicks.with your bars start the wheelie bar wheels at 8 inches up and see how it feels.

yup, on 1 pass I did have them set about 2" off the ground and it did unload the tires.
I guess the correct setting would allow the front end to come up and then have the wheelie bars stop the car from doing a bigger wheelstand without unloading the rear tires...right ?

Mine are there to keep it from standing up, nothing else. A good tuner can gain wheel speed with solid bars. Me? Im trying to repeat dead on index so i dead hook it.

I found the trick is to set your bars to where you can just touch them and ride out the wheelie evenly.
It has to do with front shock extention in conjunction with wheelie bar height.
