Anyone need an aluminum ring gear?

I'm speechless. Is that guy feeding his family with this type of activity, or is merely a "hobbyist"??

New aluminum Mopar big blocks are on the way.

I don't think you find many "hobbyists" in India !! Frankly, I'd consider him an expert in his field. I suspect the gear was cast to show his ability to accurately reproduce a complicated shape. And just think, if an American was to do this they'd want a parts washer, a hydraulic press, a forge, a tumbler and an air conditioned shop to do it in !! Look past the fact that its a ring gear !!

I've seen the old cope and drag casting process before but THAT ain't it! I wonder if that shop is OSHA approved? 65'

Good skills anyway.. With all those screaming kids I think he is casting all the parts needed to build a car and get away!!!!

Absolutely! Those screaming kids would drive me CRAZY!!!

How would you like to work all day folded up like that? Example of the feet are useful tools.

Testing has shown aluminum rings gear durability is improved by using pine pinion gears, there was testing with oak & cedar but they cause excessive premature wear.... When matched with a pine pinion gear technicians were able to travel upwards of three miles before the ring gear failed.... Well there was one premature failure but it was due to a stone in the path of the vehicle... It appears driving over the stone overstressed the ring gear...

working with what you have.
Pretty neat to watch that.

the guy has skills
look where & what he has to work with

to bad it's all for nothing

I'm surprised he even did the casting at all

maybe just practicing for something else
actually usable

I give him immense credit for making something with crude tools 95% on here couldn’t duplicate with $100,000 in their pocket. It might not be worth a crap but he made it!
