For those who have done it what is the best driveshaft option?? Order new, shorten and rebalance original or other. Also is the original taper at the rear of the original driveshafts for exhaust clearance??
What’s it going into? I had a clearance issue with my 67 Charger. I was going to push the axle back 1” for bigger tires, which interfered with the gas tank, street car. So don’t pick anything until you have measured it at ride height while I stalled. I decided not to go that way (at least for now) due to a cascade of issues. I think you can get a drive shaft made for around $300 US ($400 here in Canada).
I took my driveshaft to a machine shop and had them shorten it by 1 1/10". Worked just fine. For those who have done it what is the best driveshaft option?? Order new, shorten and rebalance original or other. Also is the original taper at the rear of the original driveshafts for exhaust clearance??
