Rebuilt 4.7 and the Drama that came with it.

Since they probably didn't remove the whole harness from the vehicle but they did need to disconnect the injector connectors I'd take a good hard look at the harness right close to that injector, pull both pins out of the connector & make sure they aren't broken/damaged...

I did check that injector portion of the harness.. It seemed to be in good shape. I have one connector that I scavenged from the bone yard. If need be I'll replace it. I have the FSM for the truck but cant find any specific schematics for the 2003.

While I was looking over the harness I did see blue junkyard "GOOD" written on the rear of the driver side head... lol rebuild...Sure.

You got that right.. These guys are literal morons.
speaking of,have you raised a fuss for whomever paid for this motor rebuild job?
esp when youve just discovered the junkyard tramp stamp on the engine?
around here i could have bought you 2 Complete durangos w the 4.7 for that money.
i also could have bought at least 4 or 5 4.7 junkyard motors...
not that i would, they were some of the worst engines ever made.

im just curious if you are going to try to make things right for whomever paid.
seems like you have plenty of evidence so far.

Well, its my neighbors truck. I found a 56k engine for 1500.00 Then he ran across this ad from these BOZOS 1750.00 rebuilt and installed.. Wow great deal huh? Well nope, biggest mistake he ever made. I'm working on getting it fixed. Spent my own Sunday out trying to collect missing parts these asshats left off. Those guys need to be out of business. Since he is my buddy I will help him get it fixed. He just wants to move along and put this mistake in the past.. So I'm helping him get it back to where it should be.

ahhhhh so you are one of those,a glutton for punishment..lol
ive went thru the same thing many many times.
im sure you get this from your buddy already, but hey TY for being You,a Good person.

i almost choked on my coffee when i saw which bracket they " omitted " in his motor rebuild...

Mike is the same guy I built the Roadrunner for. Hes one of the best guys that I know and would give you the shirt off his back. Really cool dude he has no mechanical know how so he rely's on me to help him get stuff sorted. Hes probably the only guy I trust around here. He is one of the guys that if you say.. Hey man lets go to SC to look at a car, he will load up his trailer and haul it all the way to SC and never even bat an eye. Its a childish sense of adventure for him. When he was a kid he grew up dirt poor and never had a car until he was in his 20s so he just loves to get out on the road and go.. Never questions my quest for an old mopar he just likes the adventure.. GREAT GUY he is.

My step daughter likes to buy junk but she isn't the only female I know that does that. She used to want me to go with her to help find something decent but would buy the first pos she came across AFTER telling her it was a pos. Asked her why am I here again?? She did that twice and the 3rd time she asked me to go with her she just got a dumb look. Some people just never learn the concept.....

The price was decent for the quad cab truck. Everything else afterwards was a nightmare. I finally found the tan wire from the WHITE connector on the ecm. I checked from terminal to injector plug and it rang through. So I think the ecm is hosed. Or PCM whichever you want to call it. I checked the wire plugged into the ecm and the truck running. Pinned the wire and used my ground lead to the pin. Then hooked my red lead to the battery + and got nothing from the ecm for a signal. Sooo I think its hosed JIM..

mine's about to turn 200K, purrs like a kitten....... can't be all that bad IMO :)

I had a 2002 WJ 4.7HO i bought with 26k that aside from valve seals at 125k ran awesome when I sold it at 198k. It did have exclusively synthetic oil from 30k and on...but no complaints. If your looking for a replacment...I'd try to find an HO. Tri metal bearings, forged internals..

Didn't know an HO was built. How much power did it have?

265 is 35? better than the 5.2 Magnum....and it's from a smaller package.

It was always a runner...and the 545rfe tamed it pretty well....I used to pull a 22' v8 daycruiser/cuddy cabin with it....it would pass anything but a gas station.

The standard 4.7 matched the 318 for hp but it had to spin faster to do it.
The HO added 30 hp and then the short lived dual plugged and beefed up 4.7 had a larger throttle body and made 300+ hp.
The standard 4.7 was made throughout the production run.

I cant even come up with a comment on this.........

Starter bolts are overated... tye wraps are almost the equilvant to duct tape....at least they were the black up resistant ones...so what's the problem????
