Storing your ride

Lots and lots of fabric sheets. Seems to work?? Stuffed into the vents, under the dash ,seats, trunk. Even under the hood around the engine and around the cowl area.

Smells really nice in the spring. lol

I don’t know why this works but I do it too, also in my travel trailer and never have mice issues. The one time I stored my travel trailer at a friend’s acreage for 2 months I forgot too, and I had mouse crap!

All very interesting and different solutions to the mice problem. I have been using hedge apples chopped up around the outside of my house. But the thought of using them in my shop was a bit disturbing. I didn't want them scattered around the floor of my shop.

This guy has been experimenting with different things. Watch this video. He has a box out in his barn with a camera. Moth balls at the 2:00 mark.

Then in this video he uses the mint oil. Check the 1:00 min mark.

Good thread, Made me go to the steel building and check on the 67.
I had forgot to pull the visors down. also checked the kick panel air vents to make sure they were closed.

Poor BASTARDS! Drive year round in these parts. No storage. Thanks for the reminder though.

I'll have to try those Tomcat baits. I don't get them in the car but I have been getting them in my smoker and grill. Pisses me off because I have to disinfect them every time i want to use them. I tried Irish soap but they ate it and dryer sheets. Also tried a mechanical trap baited with peanut butter but they don't give a crap about that either.

I don't put the baits in or near the car.
Put them in dark corners of the building away from the car.
I can always catch mice with a mechanical trap with peanut butter, but my cars are not at home during the winter.
So pretty much impossible to keep any mechanical trap baited and cleared of a carcass.

I'm told that moth balls smell real bad, but when I spread the wings on a moth, I couldn't smell anything.

That is an "Oh No" moth.
When it comes in to land it screams, "OH NO!".

Ive had good luck with Bounce Dryer sheets, I also change them out a few times over the winter. Irish Spring will actually attract the mouse, they like to eat it but they can't digest it so they (for lack of a better term) explode due to gas build up from the soap.

One of the best ways is to keep a fan blowing across the floor under the car, they hate the turbulence plus it keeps the humidity and moisture off your car. I keep a ceiling fan and floor fans running all the time.

Yes KK ! I've had good luck with BOUNCE drier sheets in my boat, but they have to be BOUNCE.. not knock offs. Moth Balls have NEVER worked, other than to stink up the car. Guess I'm off to get some Victor Mints..

If those Victor Mints leak, I'd be afraid of them staining or discoloring carpet or the like.

I have two small containers, one inside the car and one in the trunk with cotton in the bottom. I bought the spearmint extract and use a dozen drops in each container. When it seems to be wearing off I'll add some more. The mint for cooking is more expensive than the oil sent for candle making or air fresheners.

I even mix some up with water and a couple of drops of dish soap in a spray bottle. Spray it around doors, windows and around the car. It really keeps the spiders away. The aroma only last for a couple of days but it keeps on working.

You’d think with your grill you could just run it at high for 1/2 hour and scrape the grill, that should disinfect it? Kind of a piss off though!
