Putting my Coronet back together and can't remember what the switch looked like for trunk lite? There is a small mount area on upper drivers side of trunk opening where I removed it. Is it the same switch/plunger as used to activate dome light (door frame mounted)?

If it is the mercury switch type, there will not be a switch. If not, there are also two types of switches, both are similar to the door switches. One type will have power coming in to it and the light itself will be grounded. The other type will have a hot wire to the light and the ground will be applied at the switch.
So many ways to do the same thing.
jus sayin....

Very similar but the wire connector accepts a bullet connector rather than a spade connector & the connector makes a 90 degree turn....

Mercury swatches are used on E bodies & most other cars after 70 but 70 & earlier B bodies used a mechanical plunger switch..

Very similar in design to the door plungers except the one in my 67 belvedere has a 90 degree bend where the wire hooks up. This is the best picture I have at my disposal right now. Zoom in and you can see how it's hooked up.

Mercury tilt switch are on 71 and lates ( talking about B bodies ). These handle positive while the chassis takes the ground.

On regular push button switch the positive is constant to the bulb while is switched by the ground via the push button, just like dome lights are
