ANYONE HAVE INTEREST IN OLD CHRYSLER HUBER FOUNDRY INFO PHOTOS MANAGEMENT ETC...

GREED always has to get the best of people!!:(:(:(

I disagree. I made a fair and reasonable offer because the items have historic and research value. The guys time is worth something as well as the shipping. He could have tossed it all and never said a thing.....

I was in the same position as he is when I liquidated my fathers estate. All cash generated went to mom. I don’t have a problem with the guy generating what he can from the sale.

Yeah, and he could've also donated them to a museum with a TAX write-off and not said a thing! So what's your point?

Oh FFS, Jon. The man was just trying to help his mother out with a little extra cash.

And now it will get posted to the internet so ALL of us Mopar guys and gals will benefit from it. Not to mention that Doug is one of the most respected historians of the Mopar hobby and he will do what's right by these documents.

Sheesh man, relax.

Yes. And they could have wound up in a box in said museum and never seen the light of day. Just because they go to a museum doesn’t mean they get used or displayed.

(Btw....what “museum” do you have in mind?)

I don’t begrudge the guy for doing the right thing by his mom and dad.

Thanks for your kind words.

Sadly, I didn’t wind up with them. I was too slow.

Did the buyer hack into and pay for this out of Jon's Paypal account.. he seems pretty pissed about someone spending money for others to benefit from!!

Museums have a habit of letting things go and find their way into private hands. Money is needed to keep museums running, and if they get stuck for cash, they let stuff go. My Grandfather donated loads of stuff to a local one years ago...it's all disappeared now.

I don't see greed,,,,I see a guy that wants it to go to a better caretaker so all that cool stuff might get displayed. We don't know who bought it but I hope at least copies go to the registries!:praying:
The seller and I spoke in great detail about everything yesterday(including friends, family, etc.) and oddly enough... The term caretaker Was in fact used several times. Most of us here have lost parents, grandparents, siblings, and in some cases Children. God Bless all of our lost loved ones.:praying: Anyone that has had to liquidate the estate of a loved one knows that it is a very, very hard thing to do. Sadly, I have been there. You want items to go to the right place and for the right amount. We made what we felt was a fair and reasonable agreement for ourselves and for the history of the paperwork. Everything is and will be in good hands. No worries. The plan is to get it to Chrysler Historical one way or another. Although everyone thinks this stuff is cool, not everyone is willing to part with their hard earned dollars to get it where it needs to be. I was willing to spend the money on it and payed up with the intention of getting it Chrysler Historical.
@69Coronetrt You said you would likely be the one to scan. Do you own the site? If you would prefer to own everything...I’m perfectly fine with that. Start a conversation and let’s make that happen. If not... Donations from other members are gladly accepted!! Sadly, my new found wealth from selling Yardsticks here did not cover the asking price of the documents.

:lowdown::lowdown: The documents are in safe hands. Well done.

Too bad this thread wasn't a sale thread so everyone would get a chance.

That dude is pissed at the world. Wouldn't take him long to get all bent out of shape if he stumbled across a $100. bill laying on the ground.

I do not own the site but have scanned and posted a large amount of material. I consider Barry and HH webmaster Mike to be friends.

I've purchased items and scanned or received, scanned, and shipped back to the owners.

I can go either way. If you want me to purchase the items and take possession of them, that's fine.

If you want to own them but would allow me to scan the items and return them to you, that's fine too.
