Haven't had a real tree for decades but do like the smell of them. Thing is, keep it watered if you do have one. It really does help it from drying out too quickly. Heard of people that would grow them and bring it into the house still in the dirt pot. That would be pretty cool imo.

I got a real one as well! Only way to go in my opinion. Keeping the new puppy off of it is a good time but hes being pretty good.

My father in-law is a grower.
We love a real tree 9'-6" tall usually a fir of some type.

I can see my prairie dogs climbing one lol. They can climb pretty good but it's the getting down that's the problem.

Unless I can take a trip to the country side and get a fresh live tree, I wont have a real tree in the house.
I bought my wife a Balsam Hill tree a few years back. It was very expensive, but is easy to set up and looks great.
The advantage is she is happy

Used to be a must have real tree and while our kids were still home. Buddy and I would go tree hunting every year and he'd get pissed at me being too picky. Now it's a cheap fake tree. With the folks gone and empty nest some of the old luster of the holidays has gone wayside. My mother was a crazy go all out with decorations and my poor dad would spend hours making the decor to her liking.

It has to be a real tree. Easy to water with a funnel and piece of old heater hose. I like the Fraser Fir as it will last from Dec1-31. Usually stops drinking up the water mid month.

last year,I missed the city pick up of the Christmas trees after the holiday,so I chucked the tree in the back yard, and I figured I would throw it in the firepit, and burn it. I couldn't believe how that tree went up when I threw it in the firepit! It was better than gasoline. I told my wife, that was our last real tree!

I have a fake tree, but I'm a stickler for realism, so I spray it with Turpentine so it is a fire hazard.

Thinking back as a kid we had those old tree lights that would get hotter than a pistol; wonder how many houses burned down from that setup..

You can get a genuine Charlie Brown tree from Amazon....

real tree. there is a tree farm less than 5 miles from us. cut it down myself, and put it up that day. usually the day after Thanksgiving.Had tree sap all over out hands. Damn stuff does not wash off, but hard to beat that smell. As long as it isn't dropping a bunch of needles and still takes water, we leave it up. Made it to Easter one year. People give you strange looks when they walk in and see a Christmas tree at Easter. And gotta have an electric train under the tree.

Sooo cool basket case.....reminds me of when my kids were little.

We have an 8' fake tree ....real ones get expensive and messy. besides...the smell triggers allergies in my family. We only stopped putting the train set on it a couple of years ago...kids are a bit older now.

Grew up on a large farm and there were always some wild cedar trees to use. Most years after I had my own family, we had live trees.

Now that I'm on my own I have a three foot artificial that I display in the front bow window. Fits perfect in one of my closets for storage. Just get it out and plug it in. Hang a wreath on the front door and all's well. Burn a pine scented candle for the perfect effect. It's still in the closet, maybe this weekend.

I had a coworker who bought a live tree and ended up with thousands of baby praying mantis in his house. I guess you have to check for them when useing a live tree! :D

Real one here. Wife will not allow me to have a fake one.

Oh man, too funny!!

I have not had a tree since my daughter was a child. Besides, it doesn't represent Christmas to me anyway.
