I was thinking about the drive your classic car trope.

I like looking at my cars I like driving my cars and beating on them some times that's why It has a powerful engine and a 4 speed.....Its no fun to put snow tires on it and to drive it to work like when I was 17 and only had 1 car for fun and every other car/truck related activity. that's why long ago I started getting multiple vehicles to have what I needed for the task at hand. Yes there was a time I put snow tires on my 340 duster and drove it to work in the snow. I didn't break my *** fixing rust to drive it in snow so it rots out AGAIN, or have some *** hole hit it because they cant drive or don't care about hitting it because "its just a car" . My car got hit in a parking lot this passed labor day and it pissed me off to no end but I will still use it and do burn outs but its limited. Its a toy that's the bottom line. Its worth a few bucks too so If anyone thinks Im not using my car Right they are welcome to buy it (for the price I want) and do with it what they want. Its easy to say drive it , driving it is another story

so true i live in Florida the drivers around hear are loco.... when i Finnish mine i will drive like i stole it . yes i want to cruising but when i feel that big block man . dont want to race any more i want to drive my car. back in the day all you saw was muscle cars and when 2 road runners passed each other beep beep to say we are brothers . my dad would even beep beep to a G T X as they were like your big brother. all of us share a love for our cars so enjoy your car your way but dont tell me how to treat my car . that is like dealing with a home owners ***, this is America and i will be free and live my way.
Exactly......

I find it odd why one other member than the OP is still continuing to worry about other people’s stuff.....truly sad because it appears to be more revolving around jealousy or something personal to make themselves feel good. Just by ripping on another that has ZERO to do with their own personal life....seriously, grow up..

Buy it, drive it! Those that have and never drive, can't afford to own!!

I don't own any classic cars now but both moorsickle I own were rare from day one. Only 100 of each were imported. They are daily drivers. The 87 is going in for a minor restoration. When its done the 90 goes in for a major freshening. New paint, brakes and some lighting.
And they will again be DDs. And I keep em in the shed with the lawnmower, etc.

Oh I own quite a few. And I can afford to have them. I don't drive them because I don't have any place TO drive them. I don't drive just to drive. I would love to if I had a place to go. lol I live 25 miles from town and go in very seldom. My wife goes in for supplies once a week (most of the time)

If a car was designed to have beautiful lines, I call it art, whether restored or not.

To me a car is a hunk of iron and intended to be driven, used, not necessarily abused.

If someone restores a car and wants to preserve it, fine. Yes it can be a thing of great beauty.

What other people think and do, is their affair.

I love the old cars just don't have that passion to go drive just to drive. I restored this one 2 years ago. It has never been out of the shop. (the silver one) Its been sitting there ever since.

I drive mine just to drive it. I'm retired and have time to enjoy it. Now it's not a high end restored to the max car, but it has it's value. I can also see owning a work of art car and enjoy just waxing it and rolling it around the neighborhood for ten minutes. If I had a Superbird or '63 Vette I think I'd be worried about taking them out on the road today. I guess for me (IMHO) it may come down to financial question. Jay Leno has $$$$$ so he can do whatever, me not so much.

Remember not to leave those Fords alone with a Mopar.... you saw what happened to that Mustang when it was left alone with a Charger...LMAO

I dont drive the Bee as much as I would like but I do drive it. Here in s carolina the drivers make me nervous.

When I take the Bee out, I’m the one that makes others nervous!

If you can tape a lousy banana to a wall and call it art, I have a multibillion dollar MASTERPIECE in my garage!
PS...I drive the hell out of my masterpiece!

Other drivers didnt worry me much until 3 weeks ago....(start off saying we are ok)...but 2:00 in the afternoon a man fell asleep at the wheel and hit us head on in Kansas. He had a 3/4 4x4 we were in my wife's '17 GMC acadia. We thought he was going to swerve back in his lane...He did not. My wife got us stopped but he hit us head onprobably going 55. He didn't speak english....and had the Kansas minimum required insurance(At least he had that)...but a measly 25k liability. Which does not even buy our car. Fortunately we walked away...my wife got a concussion and neck injury and stitches...she will be ok with time and I am very, very grateful. The safety features on the car really saved us hats off to the engineers:lowdown:....it absorbed the impact...didnt even crack any glass and all the doors opened...must have had 8 air bags. I hate to think how bad the damage would be to one of my beloved mopars I've owned for 30 years. And physical injury...God forbid. Yes, I will be back on the road with my classics...but driving one every day I think I've moved on....but every time I work on something with a computer :mob:
I get why people like driving something they can keep running.
