1945 Empire State Building B-25 Crash

Read about that years ago. The thing I remember most was one engines cut through the cables on one elevator and sent it and passengers plummeting over 900 ft to the bottom, messy. They had elevator operators at that time to control what floor you wanted.

THERE WAS ONLY ONE PERSON IN THE ELEVATOR WHICH FELL 75 STORIES! AND SHE SURVIVED!!

Sounds like collusion to me....

Or would that be collision?

Was that published by CNN? Lol!
Readers Digest 40 years ago. I went online and read the latest "version". The only reason I remembered the RD article was the thought of being in that elevator crashing to the bottom with those other DEAD people (like it said in that article) that stuck in my mind. And nothing about "safety" brakes in a 1934 elevator. Who knows how many times that story's been re typed, maybe the NY Times from that day would be the most accurate since I was born four years later and wasn't there

I was making a joke about it.

The lady that survived the elevator drop set a Guiness world record that has not been broken. Over 1000 ft IIRC.

Not a record that I would want to try an break.

In the most recent article they said TWO lady’s survived the drop. More discrepancies I guess. Only 84 years ago what could be left out?
