Billionaires and their 37 million dollar car problem

:realcrazy:

you're "stupid enough" (yes I said it, no matter your wealth)
to buy a $37,000,000 "US" currency for 'a car'
but you're too stupid (yes I said it again)
that you didn't negotiate the trans, to be in or part of the org. deal, sale
then shame on you

a fool & his money, will soon be parted, 10 fold in this case :blah:

What an F'ed up story. Car was $44 million with the gearbox, $37 million without. I could get it for you for $25,000, but it will cost you $500,000. Oh, and by the way, I dont owe you anything, nor do I own a stupid gearbox for this car, as you know. This sounds like one of those "test cases" lawyers intentionally get themselves into.
yeah the way it all pans out,to me at least.
if you read around you find out gfl refused to pay shipping from cali,
where mr carls other dealer is that has the trans in storage.
so now mr Carls wants 500k for this same transmission,
and he has strong ground to get it as well, because it will Make the car complete.

sounds to me like Gfl did drop the ball.
im pretty sure the buyer would have gladly paid the 25 thousand Plus shipping and fees in the end to them instead of getting blackmailed by mr carl for 500k.
gotta wonder how far spread the greed factor was on this case.

you haven't read the article.

It was known that the original transmission is not in the car.

Dumb?
Anyone being able to spent that kind of money is usually not dumb.
No need for envy

Sorry, I did read the article. When dealing with that kind of $$$$'s, you don't leave anything to chance or oral agreement, even written agreement. With that kind of monies involved, I personally would have flown myself to inspect the car along with my personal mechanic since I could pay for him also. I'm not saying that this person is dumb in life, obviously he has some smarts to get where he is in life but in this case I feel he could have avoided this situation by doing his homework. This will end where both parties will be paying wasteful monies in the courts. So far the Gear Box is still in limbo. Personally I think that if Fisken and Carl would have actually met at the very beginning of negotiations, I feel they both would have come to an agreement about the gear box along with the current 3rd party of the gear box with all knowing the history of the car. So as far as this case goes, they both are dumb asses for behaving this way.

Given a little bit of time, I’m sure I could hack in a period correct A833 w/ ball and trunnion for him. Problem solved!

Uh oh, I see 75Super has disagreed with my 4sp swapping skills....but I get it, a 727 might be a little easier, not having to deal with a clutch and all. Push buttons for all my friends!

I think the only real problem is locating a period correct a-833 since they came out two years after that Ferrari.

This is a weird question, why was the gearbox out of the car in the first place? Out for repair or ...

Imagine dealing with a US LAWYER from DC and the "deal" is a shitty one. 25k turns into 500k after the lawyer gets involved. Who would have thought....
