My first wing car!

I always wanted a wing car but could never afford one, when they were cheap, I was young and broke. I had my mind made up to build one using a Satellite but then fell into a 70 Roadrunner that had a tilt front end, basic 383 AT car that had been hacked up, so I thought I'd do that one but then after looking at it I decided to leave it a RR, I am putting a 66 426 and a 4 spd in it. Oh well, can't have everything I guess...

Find of a lifetime! Let's get some under the hood pic's!

Here is a picture of the engine, guessing the previous owner took it out in the early 80’s and repainted it and believe he went through the heads and put a new timing chain on it. Since I plan on driving the car I might pull it and check the bearings, I don’t want to damage the original block.

Few things not factory correct that I will need to change. Don’t plan on it being perfect but it will be closer haha.

Wow..very good friend indeed. Super(bird) cool from another new Bird owner. Please keep us up to date on it's progress.

When I picked up my Superbird I made sure my dad was able to come with along with my brother and my wife. My dad has dreamed of owning one and we’ve always wanted a Lemon Twist yellow car and a four speed and some how I came across one.
My car is a V-code 70 Roadrunner, Lemon Twist, and I think it's THE best color combination and looks GREAT on a Superbird! I'd be thrilled to have a V-code 'Bird in that color combo!
CONGRATULATIONS!

Oh yeah! It's a 3 pedal car too!

Wow beautiful Lemon twist Roadrunner!! Can’t wait till my bird is painted and hopefully looks as nice as yours!!

Sorry guys I haven’t started a restoration thread on the car yet but need to. I got the interior out of the car and the floors are in amazing condition with the original paint still covering them.

THAT is great news!
Man! Things are going well for you and getting better!

Very cool find. I would give it some sort of 70's physecodelic paint job or NASCAR themed paint job. Way too many stock looking restored cars out there already no matter how cool they look. I like to be different.

OMG!
:eek::eek::eek:
I am blessed to have and love my 70 V-code Roadrunner in Lemon Twist and black! So if I ever did a wing car clone, it would absolutely be a Lemon Twist and black Superbird! Plymouth callouts on the rear quarters, either a Gen 2 Hemi or a turbo or centrifugal supercharged Gen 3 Hemi, 5 or 6 speed manual transmission and the best handling and braking systems available.

I’ve always wanted a lemon twist superbird so this one will definitely go back to factory but I would love to build a clone pro touring style bird or a NASCAR style bird.

This is a super story !! Congrat's on the find and being able to get her back on the road. The fact you're dealing with a rust-free car is HUGE and then to have all the extra parts that go with it? More icing on the cake.. Look forward to the storyline on the resto...
