However, they did get one song wrong; Joy To The World was sung by Three Dog Night back in the early 1970’s.

Yep, good ole Jeremiah, he was a good friend of mine!

Not 100 but Porky pigs Blue Christmas is a classic ......

Did they sing Hanukkah songs in public schools back in the sixties in public schools?
Looking back was it ok to sing Christian religious Christmas songs in public schools back in the sixties?
Should maybe people just leave there religious convictions at the door and stop ramming them down the throats of others?
My suggestion should be if you and your family want to hear and sing along with Christmas songs that celebrate the birth of Christ, go to your church or buy a CD like Ironbuilt posted.

Why yes we did sing Christmas songs in school in the 60s. Even had Christmas programs that all were welcome to take part in if they wished to. {One nation under God} was included in the pledge each and every morning before class started.
The teachers could paddle a kid with a board in front of the class when they were out of line.
The funny thing is................. I do not recall one single school shooting....... anyplace. Wonder why ????????????

Not that I recall, Just your standard Christmas stuff.
I do remember we had some Jewish kids in school though not in my grade or class. Their father was a local Dr.
I remember having to wear a cardboard Christmas tree in one of the Christmas programs, Testament to my acting chops.

My wife just went to the grandson's Holiday Fair. They go to public school. I guess the religious part is out. I went to Catholic school for ten years and the church was a central part of growing up. As a result I have a different aspect of what Christmas is or should be

Its hasnt been whats it all about for a long long time. Know its about how much you can spend on everybody.
