charger for sale not mine

:steering:....

I don’t see that specific question....stated as a question......
thats because i didnt ask it.,....as you know.
all i asked was did he think logically he could finish all his cars before God forbid something happens to him or the market falls out.

some of the regs here apparently either cant read or just like to assume things.
at no point did i ever say he Has to sell,i merely asked his motivations.
considering how many other peoples topics he posts his own cars in,
one would think it was a valid question.
it looks like hes more into bragging about the cars,
then actually trying to share the cars,or get them finished.
thats why i asked him a logical question, and his answer clarified it.

as far as those piles bringing 8 grand or more.
maybe...like i said,if someones dumb enough then anything can be sold.
lets be real tho how many of those rotten chargers will ever get done?
as others have pointed out time and time again,
its very easy esp at these buy-in prices to be upside down in a car before you turn a single bolt....

heres the only charger that has Not sold under 10 grand in the last month.
the rest went within a day of posting.
theres a range of primered chargers asking 20k and up,
nobodies buying those, and some nice cars in the 40-50k range.

btw, look at how crappy the market has become when people cant even be bothered to wash a car before selling it,esp in that condition.
im pretty sure he might get more interest if he washed the swamp off it.

If you took the 68 Charger that this thread was about, pulled the nose and doors out off of it,and gutted the interior out of it,that's what the 68 roller I sold this year looked like,I got five grand for it. so I have no problem believing that the car the thread is about will bring ten grand. I sold the running 383 matching numbers 71 Charger SE to a friend for four grand,I know I could have doubled my money on it on E bay,but it's not always about the money. That car is getting built, and the guy who bought the 68 roller is going to build it as well. He also bought the 68 Satellite convertible from me,and it needed every piece AMD sells for the car,and he saved it as well. I could have gotten more money for it as well, from someone who wanted to part the car out. That car has been saved as well. The 70 Charger R/T clone I sold brought what I thought was all the money, but a flipper who bought it from me proved me wrong, and flipped it for three times the money he bought it from me for. That was flat out indisputable proof that the Charger market is as crazy as I said it is,he took me to school. I sold the running 73 SE for three grand ,and the other 73 Se and the 73 Satellite for a grand each,as they were pretty much parts cars. The other 70 roller I sold to a friend for $500. It has good bones, but needs most of the AMD catalog. I saved it from the crusher. So there are still $500 second gen Chargers out there if you aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves and do the work. So I have been spreading the wealth, and not gouging people while doing so. To me I would rather sell a car to someone who is going to save it,and build it,than to someone who is going to flip it or part it out. It's not always about the money,it's really about the cars. I do make my money back, and sometimes a few bucks to put into other projects, but I am not killing anyone on what I sell them for, even though I could.

Aren't you supposed to be driving your car on some cross country trip or something?

now right there, you sound a lot like myself and a few others,
who do try to spread the mopar love and get the cars to good homes.
its never been about the money for me with these and other brands of cars i try to save.
its always been the cars, the people and the stories that make this my passion and life.
thanks for that reply, and God Bless us all.

Believe me Rob,I am not getting rich on this hobby, and I hate to think of how much I have spent on it over the years. It's been a fun ride though!

btw,i want to personally thank you for remembering and discussing those 2 chargers in Bellingham mass,as those 2 were responsible for my lifetime love of chargers, and mopars.
that meant a lot to me.

I don't know who ended up with those Chargers,My friend and I used to spend our weekends going around buying up every second generation Charger we could find back in those days. I remember looking at them. The guy didn't want to sell them at the time,I think i sold him a few parts for them, that he was looking for.

Rob,I don't know how far back you go in the Bellingham area, but in 1970 my step dad bought a new 70 Charger R / T SE. At the time, he was going through a nasty divorce. He had ordered the car from Bock Dodge iin Norwood Mass. When the car arrived at the dealership, the divorce had gotten really ugly, and he told the dealer that he couldn't buy the car at this time, and they put it on the lot. He thought he had things settled with the divorce, and went back and bought the car. As it turned out things were far from settled, and at the end of 1971,he was ordered by the court to give the Charger to his ex wife, on the condition that she was to make the remaining payments on the car. In 1972 the finance company informed my step dad that the car had been repossed for non payment of the loan, and if he wanted to pay the owed payments on the car he could get the car back, and save his credit. There was $520.00 owed in back payments. I was really bummed out when the Charger left, and was very happy to hear that we were getting the car back. The car had been repossed and was towed to a place called Blackwood Autobody in Bellingham. The ex wife lived in Bellingham. She left a very distinctive mark on the Charger that would make it stand out from other Chargers in the area. Apparently after missing the offramp on 495 she decided to back up across the ramp opening, and the car was hit by a Caddy trying to take the offramp. I just wondered if you remember seeing the green R/T with the crushed left rear quarter in the Bellingham area. If you do that was our Charger.

The Charger was repaired and repainted. People used these cars for their everyday vehicles back then and **** happens. The new rear quarter panels was something like $279.00 ,and the valence corner was like another $30.00.

ever since i read your reply ive been trying to think of Ernies last name.

him and his father were both Serious mopar guys when i was growing up and he lived on hartford ave in bellingham.
do you perchance have any idea of whom im talking about?
i think? his name was Ernie Stockton...not sure tho.
do not recall his fathers name.

also, david spears was the guy who had the road runner done up in Yankees colors and flag,
just like the dukes but his car was the General Grant i believe...?
all in the same time period.

david was also the guy responsible for the Insane wreck at the resteraunt at the bottom of the hill there,
when he airplaned his impala off the road on the curve at somewheres around 120mph going downhill,
and wiped out approx 10 customers cars, completely demolishing the impala.
he walked away from that crash...

The only way I got my Bee was fixing up my last 2 mopars and buying something better each time.. I work hard and thats how I could afford to have a nice driver. Believe it or not its an investment for me. I really dont have money but I am Blessed from the Big Man up stairs. I lie its not just an investment its all I know since I was 17. Mopar or no car.

The 70 Dodge Superbee, and Coronet R / T, are one of the Mopars that have been on my want list for years.
