Anyone know of somebody that has any old Nascar 8 3/4 race gears?

I'm in need of 3 of these vintage brass 90 degree fittings that they used for the axle cooler.
Unless you are running a rear axle cooler, you don't need the brass fitting and can plug it with a 3/8 pipe plug.
PM me here if you have any leads. Thanks.
Here's some pics of the fitting and where it's located on the center section.

On a side note, how would that even work? There’s no pump or way to regulate fluid in and fluid out?

It looks like a 1/2" male flare X 3/8 IPM-90*. I'll look in my flare fitting assortment.
Mike

Any good plumbing or HVAC supplier should have that fitting, it's not unusual.

For a restoration using only time period correct parts, it is unusual. They changed the style. Read below!

Good question, Mike. They used a Jabsco brand "water puppy" pump in line with the gear and cooler. I'm lucky that my original, 50 year old pump still works.
Pump is mounted on the cooler housing.
I'll get a better pic later. Controlled by a toggle switch on the dashboard.

Try that same Eaton base part number but change the 8 to 10.....Google Eaton 49X10. It shows up. I actually work for Eaton and we "may" have that in my test lab. It's not a real common part to have on hand as we deal mostly in high pressure testing and brass doesn't work for that. We usually keep a select few brass products for our machine chiller lines.

As a side note, NAPA is one of our largest distributors. They should either have that part, or will be able to source it.

Getting closer.... I need a part I need is 3/8 going into the gear.
Also, some similar sizes are squared off. I need the old one, rounded off.
These were made by Weatherhead, bought out by Eaton in 2002.
I'm hoping to find a guy with a gear, willing to sell me the original fitting.

Local NAPA couldn't help.
Hoping there is old stock someplace!! Like in the Eaton Lab! :moparsmiley:

Not so fast!! These new ones, if they do show up, are my Plan B.
A Plan is to find vintage parts!!
Yes, it's a real car, so that's why I look for period correct parts.
I also need some brass hose ends, 1/2 and 5/8.
Weatherhead made the 90 degree fitting and their logo was on the old parts.
A new one won't have that...
I also need some vintage brass hose ends, like the pic.
Bottom line, I could still use your help, sir!
