383 aluminum intake needs an exhaust block off plate

I just got an aluminum intake for my 383 but my gasket doesnt have an exhaust block off plate. Looking online i cant find crap but it looks like most people are making there own. With out getting to crazy whats my best option?
 
Fel Pro sells a valley pan / gasket with the block off.

Stuff with steel wool or fiberglass insulation for free
 
I take a thin piece of metal (even aluminum works). Make the piece wide enough to cover the crossover and the open cavity in the head. Then, make it just a little bit taller than from the valve cover lip down to the head mating surface. I bend a small lip, sort of an "L" shape, then the short lip can go between the little head gasket 'flap' (to hold the shim in place. I made a set over 25 years ago and I'm still using them. I like that size because it covers the open part of the head, around the heat crossover. Keeps things a little neater.
