I’m looking at purchasing a 71 RR roller. The guy is firm on the price at 5k. It’s a solid car, just needs a lot of interior work and paint. Virtually no rust though. What do you guys think is a good number for it?

I would snap it up in a heartbeat if it is as described, but I love the '71 Satellite/Roadrunner/GTX models...I used to have one.

How much is missing? 4-speed or auto? Parts can get pricey on these. If the body is solid and has all the trim and Interior then that is not a bad price.

need more info
what exactly is missing?
How solid??
how did the car come equipped?
tags or documentation?
lastly pics would help
there are many 71 freaks on the site who would help
keep in mind that they are not a cheap car to restore if you are missing a lot
of one year only parts if that is your angle.

Ro everyone asking for pics, I would post some but he doesn't have any that give any real detail. Its a 71 383/727 car thats rally red. It has the fender tag. Comes with (interior) dash, bezels, seats and some other parts. (Exterior) it has everything but the motor and trans I believe. I know I'm still not painting a complete picture but I don't go to see it until next week.

it sounds like 5k would be all the money for that pile
start subtracting from there if stuff is missing like a side marker or it needs rust repair

From the limited description, I would say more than fair @ $5,000.00 (my parents purchased a new '71 Road Runner when I was 16 years-old).

when you say it needs interior and paint, and has no motor trans..im thinking.
has this car ever been repainted?
(this is one of the biggest reasons ill pass on a car.)
how Much of the interior is missing?
Look at the dash and Gauges,is it the Rallye dash or the plain jane dash?
is the roadrunner Grill and emblem there and intact?
the motor and trans wouldnt worry me much, most people 440 these cars anyways.
if you decide to go back to stock 383-s are everywhere.

5 grand for a rolling rust free 71 Road Runner project car dosen't sound too bad. The money saved verses a car needing a lot of metal work is a real big deal. The car sounds like a no brainer to me.
