72 roadrunner/GTX super track pac car ??

Correct...”The sites” disclaimer that “their” information is incomplete is accurate. The site is showing a handful of pages only. And the sites pictures are not the final version that went in the actual books. That is my understanding of them as having worked at my local Chrysler Plymouth dealer.

I’m the guy that owned and scanned the vast majority of the data and color and trim books posted on HH. I’d be happy to answer any questions regarding what’s posted.

I have the data/color trim books. One question please. Why are members doubting the books?

There is no point here. And I mean no disrespect. The data books are correct. Period. Start a new thread on your 71 T/A theory if you’d like. Back to the OP.

there are mistakes in data books. One must consider which version of the book is being offered. There are early and late versions of the pages. There are running revisions as things changed through the year.

Not all updated changes were made in all books by all dealerships. Updated documentation may exist. People need to do ongoing research.

Sourcing all versions of all books is timely and very expensive.

Thank you kindly for the explanation. I appreciate it. I have a small collection of them.

I cannot speak for everyone but I know i've run into instances where some of the reference books were incorrect and usually later corrected. That said, even factory documentation has shown to be wrong from time to time. Not saying they are "crap" or anything, just that humans made them (all) and humans are prone to error. Having said that, we as Mopar guys know that that Mopar did many things that were not supposed to happen and thus there can be one off of this or that. No, I do not believe there was a 71 TA Challenger or 70 Daytona Charger, but I do believe Mopar built things that they said never existed, such as a 440 4BBL 70 roadrunner convertible (U code); according to the "books" this car never existed however I know for a fact they built one at least.

Thank you 70chall440, your post described my thinking much better than mine did. I am also sure no '71 TA's went into "normal production", only a sales brochure, which I kept for many years to laugh about. Many of us have heard of or seen an example of "one off" vehicles with parts that were not supposed to be there. One of my favorites is a buddy pulled the 340 4 spd out of a yellow '70 Duster, and upon tearing the 340 apart, it was a 340 TA block. Only one of those blocks I ever had my hands on.

Post #3 would make all U engine code, 4 spd, Dana equipped cars Track Pak according to the article posted and pasted above would it not?

I did, missed the reference to the specific ad above.

Yea, the foot note in the factory order info posted for A33 “* Available in Package Only” would indicate the Dana, seven bladed fan, and 26” radiator was only available in the A33 package. That would make all ’72 4-speed U codes as A33 equipped, whether or not the code is present on the fender tag.

As nice as the car in post #48 is it is not the only one left in existence then. The article tends to lead one to believe that was the only one ever in existence. I need to check my fender tag for the A33 as I can not locate that code on the build sheet.

The article is implying that this brown car is the last 440 4-speed car built by Chrysler in July of 72.

Do any of the 72 Dana car owners here still have the rear sway bars on there cars.

I cannot believe that there are still no pictures of the car in question.
