I have sold my current car and am looking for a new project, either a 1966 or 1967 Charger. It must be rust free, with good driver quality paint and interior. I do not want to deal with a lot of electrical gremlins. Engine size or condition is less important, that is the stuff I like to do.

I have a friend here in Pittsburgh PA that has a 66 Charger that may be just what you are looking for.. PM me for info

Haven’t found anything yet so still looking.

I have looked at a few cars, but so far have not found anything. Any leads would be great.

I know of a nice one near Youngstown Ohio.

Can the rust been repaired nicely with patch panels, or you looking for virgin metal?

There's a white '67 with a 383 here in Vermont. It has a big dent in the roof where something fell on it but otherwise it's okay. I can ask for you if you want. It's sitting in a fenced in lot behind the local Napa store. It was in my friends garage but he needed the space for new tires for sale with winter change overs piling up...it's owned by a pal of mine. last I knew he wanted $5500. Blue interior.

If you are looking for a car that is free of electrical gremlins an early Charger might not be for you. You know the dash lights are AC powered via transformer correct? Then there is the headlight debacle lol. I hav two 66 Chargers so don`t hate me for my opinion it is first hand information.

Thanks for the responses guys. To be clear, I am looking for something that has driver quality paint and decent body work. When I say rust free, body repairs with replacement metal are fine, but the car needs to be solid. I don't want to be repairing break outs in a couple of years. Body work is not my thing, I like doing the mechanical work, and would like to upgrade the drivetrain and brakes to make a comfortable driver. I'm not big on electrical work either, but I realize it goes with the territory.

Do you have any pictures of the damage, or the overall condition of the car? If it required a complete body and paint job that would blow my budget quickly.

It does. It's an unmolested survivor. Not a rust bucket per say but would need a redo inside and out.

Thanks for the lead, but it sounds like more of a project than I am looking to get into.

The car behind my red R/T is for sale, not mine. 66 Hemi car very original.
Claiming to be the Boss Hoss test car, but I do not know. I drive it all the time just for fun and it's a great runner.
Let me know

Thanks, but I am afraid any Hemi car is way beyond my budget.

I have 4 66 chargers and 1 67 charger. All major projects. U don't want any of mine but just throwing it out there case someone else wants to tackle major class 5 project cars. Got parts also. Basically I saved them all from the crusher.

Did you see this one?

I just returned from a long vacation. Still looking for a car. Saw a couple of ads before I left, but they had expired by the time I got back.

Success!!!

I called on one of the ads I saw before I went on vacation, and the car was still available. I went to see it yesterday and we made a deal. I don't pick it up for about a month, since the seller is now going on vacation. It is about a 20 year old restoration that has been in storage. The paint is driver quality, but the underside and interior are mint. It is a 361 that has had a 4 barrel installed along with 383 badging. Everything seems to work including the factory A/C. I have to find new rims and tires, so I will be able to drive it home, weather permitting (about a 5 hour drive).
