Hi all
Can I bolt my D452 headers to a 400 B motor. They are coming off a 440 RB.
The site calls for a D451 for a 400.
Thanks. Erik.

Yes you can, they will just hang a tad lower. I have TTI headers on my 383 that came off a 440 ... I think the deck height is 7/8" difference, I think ! B and RB heads are the same ... now whether those headers fit your car or not is a different story

See .... and this setup has been in the car running for over 2yrs now

Shorter deck height of a b motor, around 3/4", will make the headers hang lower, and closer together, in the car. If your headers are still in the car maybe you can look to see if it looks like they will get closer to something below where they are now. Plus, there is nothing sacred about header tubes. They can be "adjusted" for fit, it's done all the time.
I'm sure the dougs intended for a low deck will fit better than the tall deck, but i sure wouldn't pass up a good deal on a stroker, cause i might have to "adjust" the headers.

Damn good point.

Is the tubing dia. any different from the 1's to the 2's?

The 2" pipes would be fine on a stroker b. I've got ancient 2"hooker adjustable (not hammer adjustable, tubing length adjustable, lol) on my 440,would work equally well on a 451. Heck, I've got 2" headers with 3 1/2 tubing and mufflers on my 408 small block. I did have to "adjust" those.

Did you get the headers installed on the engine yet
